The Duke LaCrosse team case is a perfect example of how the Hate Crimes Bill is for prosecuting those who have committed crimes of hate but to provide accusers/victomis of hate crimes a way to go after some one or some persons they feel anger towards.

I don't know exactly when this happened but I doubt it's just coincident that this has happened more with each new generation and each generation is taught more social agendas in school and less actual education such as the sciences and math.

At some point it became accepted fact that persons have a right to be free from speech aginst or towards them they do not like and the fact is there is no such right.

Let me repeat, you do NOT have a right to be free from speech you ddo not like. You do NOT have the right to be free from any speech including Hate Speech, both supposed hate speech and real hate speech.

The founding fathers intentionally made Free Speech the very first Right and reinforced it with the second right. This is because at some level we all are offended by something someone else says or believe and so to be protected from hate speech would require all speech to be suppressed. And without any free speech we have no way to stop the powerful from re-introducing the system of Nobility with Lords & ladies to rule over the rest of us.

For those who are in favor of this Hate Speech law you better make sure you take advantage of it as quick as possible for it will not be long before those in power turn this on you and supress your speech.

Excellent post, thanks, Hans! I'm going to crosspost, with a link back, of course! The "re-prosecution" part was news to me, but I was against expanding "thought-crime" laws anyway. This smacks of something liberals would accuse Bush of! I hope I can help spread this message.
