I grew up in Illinois so I am familiar with the cesspool that is Chicago politics. Obama’s main accomplishment to date is transplanting the Cook County political machine to Washington, DC.

How about the way he didn’t really side with the people in Houdorus? Obama has never participated in a March, he’s never been in danger, he’s never stood up to power. What has he done, except get a free ride all of his life?
He’s made the economic situation worse by spending too much money, printing too many dollars. This will lead to instability and that’s not good for the peace process.

He’s increased the troop count in Afghanistan, and Pakistan is on the verge of collapse, if they fall it could lead to war with India.

My point is, he’s done nothing to make the world more peaceful.

How sad to see those of you who keep bashing and trashing your President. It’s truly disgusting to see this continued display of anti-Obama no matter what the man does or says. I guess you would rather a Bush type individual again to lie to you constantly, wage wars all over the place, bankrupt your country…. Instead you have an intelligent man who is trying to get financial recovery back in your country, trying desperatedly to not make health care only for the upper iddle class and above. You should be proud of your President!!!! He is also trying to change the way6 others see the U.S. and it’s citizens but unfortunately you idiots keep spewing so much hatred and non-rational thoughts that I know I have decided to not travel to the U.S. whatsoever anymore. My vacations will NOT include the U.S. because there truly are too many “ugly americans”.

By any rational assessment, this is nonsensical. Obama has only just been elected, and has achieved nothing. So what is this all about ? As a Brit, it seems clear to me. This is a pat on the back against the prospect of Obama beginning the process of bringing the US into the fold of tans-national governance. For those your side of the pond, the UK will become a province of the EU state within the next 6 months. The lesson of the UK’s loss of sovereignty is that Obama will not have to do much – just start the process. What is done will be shrouded in bureaucracy and only visible to geeks. Aside from the “ climate change” scam, the obvious “beneficial crisis” is the economic situation. Expect him to sign up to some form of international co-ordination/supervision, including some motherhood-apple pie verbiage which no-one will take literally but which will justify future mission creep. Meanwhile the “tranzie” network will big him up throughout his term, irrespective of the damage being done to the US.
