Good News! Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize

Yay! Congrats to Barack Obama! He has been awarded the Nobel Appeasement Prize! He has now joined an exclusive club that holds the ranks of such peace lovers as Al Gore(2007), Jimmy Carter (2002) and terrorist Yassar Arafat.

U.S. President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced Friday.
The committee cited Obama’s “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”

The committee said Obama had created “a new climate in international politics.”

“Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future,” the committee said, in a news release. “His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population.”

Wow! Just as we learn Obama’s plan for victory in Afghanistan is to turn over parts of the country to the terrorist Taliban, the world awards him the prize for appeasement, and he deserves it!

Seriously though, this is the “peace prize”. So what exactly has Obama done to achieve such a coveted award? That is a very good question.

The Reaganite Republican:

Apparently “soaring rhetoric” is all they’re really looking for at the Nobel committee- rather than any actual results (like Reagan’s ending the 40-year Cold War with a military build-up) or even a speck of historical precedent that would suggest what Obambi’s saying makes any sense.

Dan Riehl goes off, and will be discussing this in an interview on BBC radio.

Maybe Conya West will take Obama’s mic when he accepts the award. What a joke to wake up to. Isn’t this the story of Obama’s life?

The nominations have to be in by February 1.

He’d been in office somewhere just over one week when he was nominated.

I wonder how much they wanted in the way of a bribe to make this happen? Was the bribe paid directly or was it laundered through ACORN? I simply want a few answers on technique because Obama does seem to be able to apply grease where it is required. The guy’s an artist in this regard.

The biggest crook since Warren Harding is in office and somebody in Sweden thinks he should win an award for a week in the Oval Office? Surreal. I mean that, it’s completely surreal – SciFi weird.

Apparently he wasn’t able to apply grease to the IOC as effectively. Is Obama slipping? Has he lost his edge? What happened between February 1 and October 1? I’m sure MSNBC will be howling at the moon over this one as the mainstream media lauds praise on Obama. But it’s too weird for words.

The Olympics bid was won by an Alpha male. The Nobel Appeasement Prize goes to beta males.

I guess it’s for the present and FUTURE humbling of Amerika.

A [now] fraudulent award for a fraudulent President. How .. symbolic.

Wake me up from this bad dream. Fact is strager than fiction. This is like some sort of Hollywood “feel good” film. Black man goes from community organizer to president and wins the Nobel Peace Prize after 12 days in office, and the day after his wife’s slave past is revealed. If I pitched that idea I would be thrown out on my butt. I’m sure he’s pinching himself now. The only problem is…This is real life.

Best comment I saw so far was that Biden was runner up and got a sticker to put on his chair. Then someone replied “And predictably, he put it on his forehead.”

Although I find it odd that Obama was given the nobel peace prize, I am as annoyed by your polemical photo, implying that he is as undeserving as Arafat and Carter. I am perplexed by Obamas award because he is not like these two individuals or others like them – who were actively engaged in conflict resolution or negotiation Arafat won, along with Israeli prime minsters, Rabin and Peres, for their efforts to negotiate. The committee often nominates opposing leaders of long standing intractable conflict for both their attempts and successes such as Hume and Trimble, Mandela and deKlerk, Sadat and Begin ….
but what can one expect from a websight called stop the ACLU – that kind of like “Stop Democracy” “Stop the rule of law” “Stop the Constitution”
