Hey, Let’s All Pray To The Obamessiah

As Jim Hoft writes, it’s a cult (via Breitbart)

Voluntary prayer in school? Forget it. Saying The Pledge of Allegiance? Are you on crack? Crosses and the 10 Commandments on public land? That’s a paddling. Praying to Obama? Hey, that is OK in Liberal World.

Others: Michelle Malkin, Hot Air, theblogprof, Atlas Shrugs, The Sundries Shack, Nice Deb, HotAirPundit, RedState, Whiskey Fire, Moe Lane and The Anchoress. I’m waiting with bated breath for Andrew Sullivan and Charles Johnson to chime in and tell us how creepy the Obamanuts are.

PS: maybe my picture post from earlier today about zombie proof homes was rather prophetic.

Idiot brainwashed Marxist libtards. Does that cover it? Why hasn’t anyone mentioned impeachment???

  3. Sharon on September 29th, 2009 8:10 pm

    I say Impeach soon

I’m all for outrage as long as its equally delivered. Therefore, I’m going to keenly watch reactions to this clip:

What is wrong with you? These people are CLEARLY saying things like “hear us, oh, God!” That’s a pretty typical prayer. They’re NOT not saying “hear us, Obama!” The context is unmistakable.

  6. dj on September 29th, 2009 8:27 pm

They’re injecting religious value into a political figure, just like the folks in the video above.

But in all fairness, we all react defensively when confronted with our hypocrisies, and usually resort to relatively meaningless technicalities to defend our positions, so am not too surprised by your reaction.

You people are lunatics who have let your bitterness at losing an election and seeing a black man in the White House drive you over the cliff. Seriously, grow up and get over it already.

Seven and a half more years of you nutballs…give me strength.

dj, what are you talking about? Conservatives clearly say that this video shows people praying to Obama. It doesn’t. They’re praying “Oh God” not “Obama.” The entire premise of the conservative “outrage” over this video is wrong. I’m not hypocritical, I’m grounded in reality.

And while I think of it, PLENTY of conservatives prayed to Bush or claimed that God intervened in the 2000 election on Bush’s behalf. Talk about hypocrisy.

Conservative hypocrites, how about this for who’s praying to whom an creating a “cult?”

A huge apology, 1st Republican 14th Star. I completely misunderstood you.

I thought you were suggesting that they were praying to Obama. The way I see it, they were using language usually observed during religious entreaties, but they were not praying to him as a god.

So we are on the same page.

Put away the faux outrage folks. You get all het up about someone wondering if folk are praying “to” Obama, then disparage Charasmatic Christians for speaking in tongues (which has a long rich tradition in some areas).

I’m a staunch conservative and I hear no praying to Obama or to Bush. The “hear our prayer oh God” is pretty standard in many liturgies of any number of churches and obviously the kids are praying for the president. I suspect at the next “Jesus Camp” (and how tolerant of you to call it that) they will pray for President Obama. Its what many Christian camps and churches do (and maybe Jewish Temples and even mosques possibly – being neither Jewish nor an adherent of Islam, I don’t know).

No sense getting all wee wee’d up over this.

1st Republic, I disagree. I listened to it many times, after reading what Ed Morrissey wrote at Hot Air, to see if it was God or Obama. I was using really good headphones.

I downloaded it and listened to it on a really good music program with really good headphones at home. It is most definitely “Obama.”

As far as praying for Bush, yes, we would keep him in our prayers during a time when our country was under attack. I keep Obama, our current president, in my prayers, too. Not all the time, nor did I do the same with Bush. But, hey, don’t let some really good BDS stand in the way of reality!

John, take your Prozac, you’re losing it, bub. The last thing any liberal needs to discuss is unhinged behavior, based on the way you nuts acted for 8 years, and still act. I notice you did not refute the allegation, though.

  13. Kent on September 29th, 2009 9:46 pm

The original poster of the video and creator of this controversy has now stated that they may in fact being saying Oh God… if a guy who is hellbent on destroying America by attacking its president is now saying he isn’t sure, shouldn’t that be evidence enough that it may not be what you think it is? And on what planet would a group of religious minded community organizers engage in blasphemy of this sort? You people have truly lost your mind if you believe this. It means you are sheep willing to follow anyone with a radical right-wing agenda. Good luck with that.

  14. 1st Republic 14th Star on September 29th, 2009 10:49 pm

William Teach, you’re just wrong. My ears are here in the reality-based community. Either you aren’t, or you’ve got defective headphones.

  15. christmasghost on September 30th, 2009 12:42 am

It sounds like they are saying “deliver us Obama”…not “deliver us God”. Was this in a church? Illegal, immoral, incredibly stupid mindless morons that are cult drones…..all things that come to mind.
And look how the little drones come boiling out like wood lice to defend this ridiculous behavior here in the comments.
    Fascinating…..
