ACLU Vs CIA and Michelle Malkin

Michelle Malkin wrote a column blasting the ACLU for their privacy invasions of CIA officers to provide photos to detained enemy combatants, and now the ACLU responds.

The ACLU is proud to be on the ground attempting to infuse some fairness into these sham proceedings that, due to their complete betrayal of American values, have harmed our nation’s reputation worldwide.

The John Adams Project is a joint effort by the ACLU and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers to assist the government’s under-resourced military defense counsel in the Guantanamo trials.

The issue is the hypocritical tactics being used by the ACLU. They pride themselves on being protectors of privacy, yet secretly took photos of CIA operatives in order to identify them to possible terrorists. They speak of fairness, but this isn’t fair to the CIA operatives doing their jobs and their families. While the possibility exists some of the detainees may not be guilty, a bigger portion of our captives when released have went back to jihad. The ACLU’s actions are irresponsible and endanger the lives of these CIA operatives. The ACLU speak of our nation’s reputation and values, yet have no regard for the safety of those protecting these very things. They really shouldn’t speak of betrayal at all.

Malkin’s attack seems completely insensitive to the need for due process to make sure we “got the right people.” Despite what she prefers to believe, they are not all terrorists – if they were, hundreds would not have been released and only a handful standing trial.

Defense lawyers involved in these cases have acted legally and ethically at every step of the way. At no time were the identities of covert CIA operatives disclosed to detainees by members of the John Adams Project.

These are weasel words. They may not have provided “identities” to the detainees, but they provided photos. They are the insensitive ones to America’s security and there is piles of evidence to prove this apart from this one issue. The majority of the jihadis released have returned to the battlefield. The ACLU are the ones damaging America’s reputation by painting us as the bad guys and protecting our enemies. I guarantee if photos of ACLU clients were taken without their knowledge they would cry privacy violation.

Speaking in defense of this insanity is John Adams Project attorney, Nina Ginsberg, who said, “”CIA agents put a lot of people in danger, they put this country in danger, they put American Soldiers in danger.” WTF? Unbelievable. The CIA is putting people in danger? ACLU look in the mirror!

However, the ACLU are proud when they ought to be ashamed.

Mrs. Malkin, I watch you on FOX News and support you in your endeavors. The ACLU should be brought down like ACORN.
