CIA Morale At Minus 50

Posted on August 30, 2009

It’s a shame that the Washington Post doesn’t say what pages of the print version their Internet article appear on, as the NY Times does, because this is rather important information, which was listed at the bottom of the Internet front page under “other news”

Morale has sagged at the CIA following the release of additional portions of an inspector general’s review of the agency’s interrogation program and the announcement that the Justice Department would investigate possible abuses by interrogators, according to former intelligence officials, especially those associated with the program.

A. B. “Buzzy” Krongard, the third-ranking CIA official at the time of the use of harsh interrogation practices, said that although vigorous oversight is crucial, the public airing of once-classified internal assessments and the prospect of further investigation are damaging the agency. “Morale at the agency is down to minus 50,” he said.

The low morale can be laid squarely at the feet of Obama, elected Democrats such as Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, the ACLU, and their insane progressive base. The same people who say we need to look forward, not back, when it comes to what the Islamic jihadis did on 9/11, are the ones who spend all their time worrying about what might have been done to make an Islamic jihadi uncomfortable. The Left cares more about the Islamic detainees then they do about safeguarding America and her People.

A retired former senior CIA official said that since the announcement that the Justice Department would investigate the agency’s interrogation tactics, he has received many calls from serving intelligence officers, some in high management positions, seeking advice about new jobs or lawyers. “This is a bad one,” he said.

But, on the bright side, it should continue to get much, much worse, as the White House goes forward with their investigations, especially since the Obama administration is so clueless and divorced from reality

One former senior official said President Obama was warned in December that release of the Justice Department memos sanctioning harsh interrogation methods would create an uproar that could not be contained. “They [the White House] thought that it would be a two-day story; they were wrong,” this official said.

Very, very, very wrong. As usual. The Democrats and their base want blood for being mean to jihadis to gain information to save American lives. Blood for 9/11, the sawing off of Nick Berg’s head, and other Islamic attacks on Americans? Well, not so much.

The Smartest President Ever seems totally unable to fathom that the survival of his administration now depends upon the kindness of jihadis.

    Pride goeth before a fall.

obama and holder should be arrested for treason. This is the kind of crap that third world dictators do; prosecute former regime’s people for war crimes.

I weep for our once great Republic!! Get ready 3% because it’s coming, oh yes, it’s coming!!

If I were Obama and Holder I’d back off the trashing of the CIA and their operatives. You know what they-”What goes around comes around.”
And eventually it’ll bite you right square where the sun don’t shine!

    “You know what they SAY.”
That’s what happens when your brain is faster than your typing finger. No, really.

Wait! I thought we were suppose to dis the CIA cause they were undercutting W.’s case for war. Are they good Republicans now and I should be wildly offended when they are criticized? OK, can do!

There really is no other outcome to this other than our security being weaker. We won’t be able to recruit anybody to work for the CIA– and I don’t blame them.

Who would want to fight a war they aren’t being allowed to win? You’d have to be foolish. What kind of person willingly goes to battle with both hands tied behind their back?
