Although I respect Sen. Kennedy for his tenacity and dedication, I agree that the funeral came perilously close to a Wellstone moment several times when various people (usually a child – a favorite tactic of the Dems) made a point of advocating for socialized medicine in the name of Kennedy. In several instances it became a veritable rally of liberal causes (welcome all immigrants, healthcare for all, workers rights, etc.). I thought politicizing the farewell of a recognized American icon was, at best, in poor taste.
This kid was being used and didn’t even realize it.
That’s the very definition of child abuse, from blatant political exploitation which the Democrats have refined into an art form, all the way to outright pedophilia.
What? That’s an outrageous remark? Au contraire.
The common thread is that an innocent, unknowing child is being exploited for the personal benefit of an adult or group of adults.
And that’s what Democrats do as a matter of policy and tactics.

I watched it live and knew what they were doing the moment it was happening when it did. Why did the news media gloss over such abuse?
How can you trust these people to manage health care after this event.
Why was everyone clapping during the funeral procession? It came across more like a parade. I expected the people in the funeral cars to be throwing candy out the window.
We must remember that Kennedy led the healthcare charge before he became ill. I don’t think it was inappropriate at all for those who spoke to make reference to this. after all, it’s what he lived and died for and I pray that it passes too.
So, you right-wingers hate it that Ted Kennedy’s grandchildren and nieces and nephews were ‘used’ as speakers at his funeral. You guys really are nut.
I think what you really hate it that you saw a man who was loved by his large family and many millions of Americans. Why don’t you go back to screaming about Obama’s birth certificate?

Are you people crazy? Senator Kennedy devoted his life to these causes. Why wouldn’t his family and friends, champion them as an enduring legacy of his life. and encourage all Americans to support them in respect of this great American patriot.

The passing of anyone is a sad occassion. It doesn’t matter what their political viewpoints are. It doesn’t matter rather we agree or disagree. I do not consider myself a liberal or a conservative. But history proves that the government is not good at providing for people. That is not it’s function. Just look at how good a job they have done with Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. I decided to refinance my house. This is a function normally done in about 30 days. I started this process in June. It is almost September and I still have not closed, because this is an FHA refinancing, where the bank is using the money provided by the government or us. So we must be careful with reforming healthcare. What is bad could become worst.
If you have ever been to a Catholic Mass, that prayer is used to pray for things the parish family, the church and the family of the person the mass is being said for.
This is not exploitation of the children, they each read a passage asking people to pray for something their grandfather had worked most of his life for.
However, your bringing up the point to degrade the ceremony and make the Dems look bad is exploiting the children.
Isn’t it a two way street? Careful how you exploit those children who took part in a religious ceremony. People might think you are trying to restrict their religious freedom.
I’m glad conservatives were blasting Republicans who used Reagan’s death to advocate liberal stem cell policies. Naw, that didn’t happen. Also, you guys are ignoring the fact that Kennedy himself politic death by asking the Mass. governor to appoint an interim senator until the special election in November. Kennedy wanted to make sure someone was there to take his place before the healthcare vote. He knew he was about to die. The Kennedy’s lived and breathed politics and public service. These values were instilled in all of them as children. And who understands the importance of these issues they fight for then them. Let me share some reality facts, right off of the front of my pay stub. I work approx 100 hrs per month—so if I worked full time–They would take out $60 per month for future Medicare (Which the seasoned Citizens have been paying into for their future needs, along with the rest of us),,along with my $252 FICA, $220 FED TAX, $194 STATE TAX, and $62 –my contribution to grp Medical INs. (Based on if I were now working full time).
NOW lets say we passed National Healthcare—which would put the other 3/4 of us on MEDICARE–basically,,,so TIMES the $60 I now pay by 4, and we have $360 per month that I need to contribute to everybodys free healthcare…. I would be Millions of dollars ahead If I had been putting that $360 in the bank every month for my own plan—-since I never go to the doctor anyway.

The GOVERNMENT shall never be in charge of HEALTHCARE. When the Government owns the Banks, Owns the Car Industry, Is run by the unions and Special Interest Groups, Owns Housing, and Owns all the businesses……Just Think….No one will dare to speak any complaint about what they are doing….as this may jeopardize YOUR Housing, YOUR job, YOUR Security of acquiring Healthcare needs, and quite possibly,,, anyone you are associated with. Of course, the reality of the situation is the fact that private insurance companies are making a killing, literally by denying their policy holders right when the services are needed the most.
Single payer for all will stop this immoral practice of private insurance “death panels”.
The overall cost for the U.S. will come down once the profit motive has been taken out of the equation. This is a proven fact.
The government already owns Medicare. That doesn’t stop brainwashed senior citizens from making fools out of themselves at Town Hall meetings by screaming “KEEP YOUR GOVERNMENT HANDS OFF OF MY MEDICARE!”
Trying to claim we will lose our Constitutional right to free speech if we get Medicare for all is simply ridiculous.
Medicare pays the bills. It doesn’t force anyone to not go to the medical professional of choice.

There is no such thing as a “full term abortion”. Who waits until the ninth month to do what they could do in the second month?
The Republicans had complete control of the White House, both houses of Congress and the Supreme Court 2003-2006. They could have easily outlawed abortion, but they didn’t.
Why not? Because they wanted to keep it as a wedge issue to attract (unsuccessfully) conservative voters to the polls, which for them is more important than saving unborn babies.
I guess that makes the Republican politicians baby killers too.

There are not many doctors who would participate in the late term abortions—-but it was Tiller’s specialty, and he was a millionaire….along with Obama, who happens to be Planned Parenthood’s #1 Go-To-Guy…They have paid him dearly to champion their abortion rights. Whole neighborhoods of people who don’t care if they finish school, get training, exercise responsibility, or make anything of their lives—because it will all be handed to them. Have you studied, or mapped out the huge number of additional government entities that it created….the tumultuous assembly line of bureaucracy and the mountainous additions of government employees and intrusions that it calls for. It is amusing to hear the proponents trying to convince us that the Insurance Companies come away with so much more—when just the new Government payroll will be staggering. At least right now, it is still private sector employment—employing many in each community.
Kevin,,,one more thing before I have to get to work…..Did you know about all the PORK Projects that have been added into this bill—-just like usual, all the Congressmen trying to squeeze in their payoff projects.
It is time for WE THE PEOPLE to demand that this stop!! It is just breeding crooked Congressmen. You will never hear Obama speak of Jesus. He speaks of God (As everyone, including the Muslims believe in God), but to speak of Jesus in a relational way would make the Muslim world question his allegiance. The same reason why he will never find a Church that believes in the same Jesus that we do. His Jesus is tied to Black Liberation Theology.
The other thing is about the vast number of different healthcare plans that are out there. When people are having such huge problems with non-coverage and going bankrupt—it is generally because they did not read their policy. Unfortunately they chose, or bought, a policy that did not cover what they needed well enough—-This is something that will need to be addressed as we go forward with IMPROVING our healthcare coverage.
Oh ya, Kevin…The republicans cannot just simply outlaw something—-it was a Supreme Court Decision.

You can hate me for the way it is presented, but it is all true! My father once told me at a funeral “A dead man does not deserve respect unless he earned it by the way he lived his life”. Based on that criteria I mourn the family loss, but will not show my respect. He did not earn it in life.
