Justice Dept. Recommends Prosecuting CIA Employees

Posted on August 24, 2009

Not shocking in the least. The hard left progressives have been foaming at the mouth to investigate and prosecute CIA employees, along with Bush and people from his administration, of course. So, what are we now getting from the same Justice Dept. that decided to drop a slam dunk case against members of the New Black Panthers? We get more politicization in the form of investigation recommendations

The Justice Department’s ethics office has recommended reversing the Bush administration and reopening nearly a dozen prisoner-abuse cases, potentially exposing Central Intelligence Agency employees and contractors to prosecution for brutal treatment of terrorism suspects, according to a person officially briefed on the matter.

The recommendation by the Office of Professional Responsibility, presented to Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. in recent weeks, comes as the Justice Department is about to disclose on Monday voluminous details on prisoner abuse that were gathered in 2004 by the C.I.A.’s inspector general but have never been released.

When the C.I.A. first referred its inspector general’s findings to prosecutors, they decided that none of the cases merited prosecution. But Mr. Holder’s associates say that when he took office and saw the allegations, which included the deaths of people in custody and other cases of physical or mental torment, he began to reconsider.

Got that? Holder began to reconsider. Surprise! Not really. It was his decision to drop the case against the New Black Panthers, and, it is his decision to go after CIA officers. Yes, some of them went over the line. According to the 2004 report that the ACLU sued to get released which covers the abuses, many of these officers have already been disciplined. All this threat will do will make a lot of people reconsider a career in Intelligence, and specifically at the CIA, not to mention putting American lives in harms way. We’ve seen how the Religion of Peace (sic) acts over things like cartoons and fake flushing of Korans.

No matter what the left thinks or feels, we are in a war against radical Islam. In war, bad things happen. Politicians on both sides of the aisle can try and soft peddle it, but, it is a war. Not always a shooting war. The march of Sharia and the subversion of Democracy both here and around the world continues. We hear about more and more honor killings in first world countries. Mosques and Islamic schools teach radical Islam in more and more places. It is a war. And, with Intelligence officers scared to do their jobs, radical Islam will be able to spread more easily.

More: Oh, hey, look who is going to directly take over interrogations

In another development, President Obama signed off on setting up a special interrogation team that would be placed at the FBI but report directly to the White House-based National Security Council.

Though such work typically falls to the CIA, one senior U.S. official told FOX News that the CIA did not want to house the new initiative.

“They’re glad to be out of the long-term detention business,” the official said.

Is it any wonder why the CIA no longer wants any part of collecting information from high value targets? Will there soon be a Jihadi Czar?

These people are disgusting. Americans should also protest this at their upcoming 9/12 march – to stop harassing those who would protect us. Instead of asking the world to take the terrorists from gitmo perhaps we should be asking them to take the hard leftists in this country. They are more of a threat to our safety.

Krystal, spoken like a real terrorist: round up those with whom you not agree and send them to Misfit Island, without trial, all because you cannot control your own fear.

I invite you to grow up. The techniques employed by OUR CIA would not pass the Nuremburg smell test. Why do you defend war criminals? This does not sound patriotic to me.

You only call for more of the same, and it’s childish nonsense. YOU are at war, clearly. Otherwise, the “war” of which you speak is a made-up thing.

Over 18,000 Americans die each year — six time that of the 9/11 attacks — due to lack of access to medical coverage.

Maybe you could calm down and set aside your fascism long enough to wonder what laws were broken, and who should be held accountable.

Otherwise, you are just making excuses for felonies. I thought conservatives were real law and order types?

All hat, and no cattle, more likely.

Holder had nothing to do with the recommedations. But where do we draw the line in how we conduct ourselves? Do we allow murder? How about dropping some bombs? Previous poster talked about Nuremberg smell tests. Right on!!!

James – your post makes no sense and states things I never posted. Typical leftist. As for the Nuremburg “smell” test – I dont recall beheadings of innocents, and the mass murder of thousands of Americans as passing any test of humanity. But then atrocities go on throughout the world everyday without a peep from the Left. The only war criminals I know of are those who hide behind terror cells and kill innocents and dont have the guts to fight in a uniform or under a flag nan to man.

Krystal, the U.S. does not have jurisdiction over the “world” so your pleas that the left don Superman outfits to “save the day” do not make any sense.

We do have jurisdiction over our own, and it’s clear our own broke U.S. and international law, abrogated our treaties with other countries, and took our focus off the real targets.

Or did we catch bin laden when I wasn’t looking? Oh that’s right. We had to waste generations of blood and treasure in Iraq to sustain the crusader war theme of the previous criminal enterprise posing as a presidency.

The investigations are coming, like it or not. Which side do you want to be on? Law and Order, or…..?

    James:

“Krystal, the U.S. does not have jurisdiction over the “world” so your pleas that the left don Superman outfits to “save the day” do not make any sense.”

No, we don’t jurisdiction over the world, but idiots like you think you have jurisdiction over the rest of us.

“We do have jurisdiction over our own, and it’s clear our own broke U.S. and international law, abrogated our treaties with other countries, and took our focus off the real targets.”

No, Jamie-Boy, it’s NOT clear that we did any of the above. Then again, it’s perfectly okay with you if OTHER countries break international law, abrogate treaties, and attack us. And, by the way, when did you ever give two s***s about “the real targets” anyway? Hmmmmmmmm?

“Or did we catch bin laden when I wasn’t looking? Oh that’s right. We had to waste generations of blood and treasure in Iraq to sustain the crusader war theme of the previous criminal enterprise posing as a presidency.”

Come clean with us: you’ve never cared about Bin Laden, 9-11, or terrorism in general. I’ll willing to bet the farm you think we “had it coming” anyway. As for “criminal enterprises,” I guess you forgot about Eric Holder’s part in the Clinton pardons affair. Or do you have enough brain cells to remember that far back?

The investigations are coming, like it or not. Which side do you want to be on? Law and Order, or…..?

You’re offering an Obama-style false choice, sweet pea. Investigations may be coming…but that doesn’t mean they’ll result in anything. As for the “side” to which you’re referring, you’re most assuredly not on the side of the United States.

    Dimwit.

Krystal, any excuse to avoid the rule of law, eh? Any excise to torture, any excuse to bankrupt the nation, any excuse to escape responsibility for abject failure.

Prosecutions are coming. Your heros will either go to jail or have their reputations ruined, though that won’t take much.

You can call me whatever names you like. Prosecutions are still on the way.

Can I get you some Kleenex?

Thanks, James, for making one of our points that this is simply political payback, and not about anything else.

Just remember, Democrats will not have full control of COngress and the White House, so, when we have control, it will be OK to come after Democrats for purely political reasons, right?

  9. James on August 24th, 2009 5:18 pm

William, you assume too much when you say “purely political.”

Torture is quite beyond politics, despite the illegal actions of the previous criminal enterprise posing as a presidency.

And people will be going to jail for it. Feel free to think it’s political. The jail sentences will be the same.

It’s not politics. It’s war crimes.

James, can we please cut the faux outrage and BS! Really. The bottom line is we were attacked by ruthless, religious maniacs that will never, ever relent or obey any kind of international law. Yes, we have laws for a reason. Laws are there to protect us. When they tie our hands and get in the way of doing this some people take risks and bend them or even break them. When they get caught, yes, they have to account for this, but you’re little world of right and wrong is a tiny one. It isn’t so black and white in the real world.

We are fighting a real enemy, and you don’t realize it. We do have the right to protect ourselves and if bashing a few heads gets answers to save lives, then the end result justifies the means. Makes sense to me.

I am of the opinion Holder is a friend of terrorist as he is known to have supported pardoning some under the Clinton administration.

This for instance is clearly a political witch hunt as the CIA Employees are Ok since their actions were OK’d by certain legislators including Nancy Peloci as well as by the President.

Next we will hear that those shooting missiles to kill Al Qaeda and Taliban operatives in Pakistan will be charged with murder.

Anyone calling water boarding torture is a liar as torture is defined at an action cause severe pain and agony and water boarding does not.

I suppose you can call make a stretch and call it mental torture as it is a scare tactic that can cause severe fear.

I have to remember to tell the next person that yells boo to me that they are torturing me.
