ACLU Forces Release Of Yet Another Secret Document That Endangers Americans

Liberal namby pamby’s just can’t move on
A long-suppressed report by the Central Intelligence Agency’s inspector general to be released next week reveals that CIA interrogators staged mock executions as part of the agency’s post-9/11 program to detain and question terror suspects, NEWSWEEK has learned.
According to two sources—one who has read a draft of the paper and one who was briefed on it—the report describes how one detainee, suspected USS Cole bomber Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, was threatened with a gun and a power drill during the course of CIA interrogation. According to the sources, who like others quoted in this article asked not to be named while discussing sensitive information, Nashiri’s interrogators brandished the gun in an effort to convince him that he was going to be shot. Interrogators also turned on a power drill and held it near him. “The purpose was to scare him into giving [information] up,” said one of the sources. A federal law banning the use of torture expressly forbids threatening a detainee with “imminent death.”
What Newsweek doesn’t bother to tell you, but, the Washington Post does (paragraph 4), is that the ACLU sued to have this report released. Apparently, they still do not understand that the A stands for American, not a**hole.
Now, don’t misunderstand me, what the interrogators did was wrong and apparently illegal. But, really, why make a big deal out of getting this information released? al-Nashiri was the mastermind behind the deaths of 17 US citizens, members of the US Navy, aboard the USS Cole. 39 other Americans, Navy personnel, were injured in the bombing. al-Nashiri was a major big shot in al Qaeda, a group responsible for killing 2,996 Americans on 9/11, not to mention all the other Americans killed by these barbarians stuck in the 12th Century. Amazingly, the bed-wetting left is more concerned with the welfare of these jihadis then with the plight and fate of people like Nick Berg, who had his head sawed off while alive.
I’d say that the left should spare us the mock outrage over what was done with the jihadis, but, it is not fake. They really do care more about the Islamists than about American citizens, particularly those in the military. These are the same people who constantly told us that we needed to “move on” from 9/11. Just forget it. How many Liberal blogs participated in the 2,996 Project? So few as to be negligible.
Anyhow, Newsweek can only report what happened with al-Nashiri and one other detainee. This report, which DATES BACK to 2004, points out that most of these actions and other detainee abuse were dealt with, and interrogators who went over the established lines were punished. “Bad dog, no biscuit! Now go sit in the corner for a few.”
Top Bush CIA officials, including Tenet’s successors as CIA director, Porter Goss and Gen. Michael Hayden, strongly lobbied for the IG report to be kept secret from the public. They argued that its release would damage America’s reputation around the world, could damage CIA morale, and would tip off terrorists regarding American interrogation tactics. “Justice has had the complete document since 2004, and their career prosecutors have reviewed it carefully for legal accountability,” said CIA spokesman Paul Gimigliano. “That’s already been done.”
Shockingly, no liberals have argued that it might cause harm to America, and put American lives in harms way. Why? Because quite frankly, they think America sucks, and also, if it harms Bush they are all for it. If someone thinks that is a harsh estimate, consider how much effort the left spent in trying to lose the war in Iraq. Now that Obama is president, the majority of their opposition has disappeared.
Maybe it is time to move on, Libs, and root for your own country for a change.

Can anyone explain how holding a power drill to someone’s ear is a “mock execution”?
Whose side are these people on?
When someone wants to tell me about some dastardly deed they’ve seen or heard about, but don’t want to be named, I file it away in my BS inventory cabinet.
My BS cabinet is getting really full these days, what with the present administration in office.
Wait until the next terrorist attack happens on American soil and watch them scream about the CIA not doing it’s job of gathering information to protect them.
It would appear that the current administration does not take protecting American citizens seriously, nor the judges who order the releases. A very dangerous situation is developing and it seems the DOJ with Eric Holder in charge is trying to keep the heat off Obama. Politics can destroy a nation and we are headed that way at the moment.
I commented on this at length at my site. Just to make a quick point. If I were them, I would tread lightly. The men and women they are poking have families. Anything goes wrong and they’ll come looking for who was responsible and no amount of paperwork, rulings, or other lawyer cr** will make a difference.

I just wonder when conservatives gave up on the rule of law as the foundation of American society. Holding a drill and a gun to this guy’s head seems to have not revealed enough to prevent other terror attacks on America.
I love the disclaimer, “Now, don’t get me wrong, what the interrogators did was wrong and apparently illegal.” But what the hell? It’s the A-hole lawyers that are bad for investigating and bringing it to light. Gosh, those A-hole lawyers. Gosh, those lefties.
Well, I’ll admit this isn’t the most disgusting reaction to the imminent release of this long stonewalled report. I’m sure heads will roll at the CIA (NOT).
How about the CIA use some actual intelligence to get some intelligence. How about conservatives devising some intelligent way to handle illegality other than blaming lefties and lawyers for pointing it out? How about the GOP stand for something it used to stand for?

First, a person caught waging war while not in uniform has ZERO civil or legal rights. This person is a saboteur or a spy. EVERY army in wars past usually executed such saboteurs on the spot. A military court martial would be convened with the officers on hand, there would be a trial and the saboteurs would be executed on the spot.
The American army always had this policy before the idiots were able to influence things.
This idea that we are going to take saboteurs prisoner and take them to the US for a criminal trial is just lunacy. These people do not qualify for a trial, they chose to wage war against civilians or military personnel who were not in combat, and they have no rights to a trial.
The Geneva conventions that you cry babies on he left want to wave about so vigorously when one of your terrorist buddies gets apprehended DOES NOT APPLY TO SABOTEURS WHO WERE CAPTURED WAGING WAR WHILE NOT IN UNIFORM.
Second, the idea that it is somehow “illegal” to force these saboteurs to tell what they know so that thousands of other people are not murdered by them and their compatriots is pure idiocy. These hard core saboteurs are not going to talk just because you asked them nicely. And if they don’t talk hundreds and thousands of other people’s lives are at risks. So what you cry babies are doing is valuing the lives of these terrorist murderers over the lives of the innocents that are going to be murdered if the terrorists do not tell what they know.
You “liberal” cry babies make me sick. You are nothing but traitors and cowards and you sympathize with terrorists who have sworn an oath to destroy the United States and to murder its citizens and the citizens of its allies wherever and whenever they are found.
This war that you cry babies are no waging against the people who have done their utmost to protect the United States from its enemies is going to have a devastating effect on their ability to protect us in the future. I fully expect the terrorists to successfully carry out a truly horrific attack inside the United States thanks to Obama’s nonsensical persecution of the very people who defend us. I imagine that this will be done against something like a crowded shopping mall on a busy weekend. I just hope that when this happens, and it is going to happen, that the American people remember how it is you crybaby liberals who are to blame for this disaster and in the next election cycle all the cry baby idiots in office are THROWN OUT OF OFFICE. The Democratic party has become a party of cowards and traitors and they need to be thrown out of office, all of them.
To show how despicable these crying, whining left wing idiots are I give this evidence of how they care more for terrorists than the victims of the terrorists.
On the same day that the story broke that someone at Abu Ghraib had “tortured” Muslim terrorists by putting a shoe on a Koran, yes that’s right, I’m not making this up, the liberal idiots claimed that putting a shoe on a Koran was “torture”. Anyway, on the same day that that story broke all over the liberal, cry baby media, another story was quietly buried and very few people in the United States heard about it. What story was that? Five female Muslim teachers were executed by terrorists by having their heads chopped off in front of their students for the “crimes” of daring to teach young Muslim girls how to read and write, and for the female teachers daring to work outside the home and to be in public without a male chaperon who is a blood relative.
Let’s see, five women have their heads chopped off for teaching girls to read and write and that story gets ZERO press, while throwing a shoe at a Koran is played and replayed for DAYS as the biggest story of the year.
I think this proves that the liberals care nothing for innocent people and their ideology dictates everything they say and do. To be frank, I have ZERO frame of reference to understand someone whose ideology makes them care not one bit that five women where beheaded, but makes them righteously indignant that terrorist murderers who are our enemies were “upset” because a shoe was thrown at a Koran. I think that liberals are seriously deranged.
