MSNBC Lie to Perpetuate Racial Tensions

Check out the video below where Contessa Brewer of MSNBC tries to imply, a black man (which they purposefully crop out) is really a white person.
“A man at a pro-health care reform rally…wore a semiautomatic assault rifle on his shoulder and a pistol on his hip….there are questions about whether this has racial overtones….white people showing up with guns.”
One tiny problem. The man was black!
I guess this is called “white washing”. I’m with Bit, she should be fired. I’m also with Jimmie, this can’t be allowed to stand.
Update: MSNBC is trying to weasel out of this by saying they were speaking “generally”. Of course they have no evidence to back up their claim, and puprosefully cropped the video to fit their narrative. I’m with Ed Morrissey:
We complain about Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, but they engage in opinion journalism, so we expect to get wild arguments and leg tingles. What they don’t do is deliberately distort source material in a manner this blatantly dishonest in order to artificially inflame racial tensions. Opinion journalism is legitimate; this is nothing but propaganda.
MS-NBC should fire everyone involved in this deception, in front of the camera and behind it. It has a decision to make as to whether it is a news and opinion channel, or a propaganda outlet for the Left. There is a difference, and this segment crossed it.

Yep! Michelle Malkin gives MSNBC the cone of shame award.

First let me say that I think people that carry firearms to the health care debate are floggin idiots but your right, MSNBC tried to make this about racism. They only showed his gun but no his face or skin…Funuckingbelievable.
First Mr. Bob, this man was not at a health care debate (and they aren’t debates, they’re simply townhalls). He was simply outside in the area of a CITIZENS healthcare townhall hosted by a radio station. Second, he is 100% within his rights to openly carry any legal weapon here in AZ. Third, the pathetic whiners who are “jarred” by the sight of a weapon in the hands of non law enforcement, local law enforcement was on the scene (of course! the president was visiting after all!) and stated that he was within his rights. And to all who think he should voluntarily suspend his rights due to the reaction of the statists, why? and what other rights are you willing to give up because of the whining of those with wimpy sensibilities?
further, the guy in question is almost certainly the same guy in my video at the shadegg healthcare townhall. he was actually very nice, polite, calm, even quiet. Video here:

Republicans are trying to start a civil war. Has anyone asked them who is paying their insurance? They do not care about the people,only themselves. We the people need to demand a two term limit on the senate and congress and make it so every day people could run. They are all lawyers and get rich from the graft they receive. Down through history lawyers have been distursted. The republicans need to get a life…..

Only a coward would carry a weapon. Why would you carry a weapon if you do not intend to use it.
To hardrock, who stated, presumably with a straight face, that the only reason to carry a weapon is to use it.
Why did these folks carry their weapons? Because they could. Isn’t the Second Amendment grand? Truth is, despite your assertion to the contrary, most people who have to carry weapons, (police, military, security), do NOT wish to use them, nor do they INTEND to use them. They will use them if necessary. By your definition, they would be cowards. Fortunately for you, they’d fight to the death to protect your right to be the a**hole that you are.
As I read the posted comments here, it occurred to me that the left and right are distinguished by the absence or existence of logic.

Why would he carry a weapon? Unarmed Conservative black man gets a beat down by union thugs at one town hall meeting. Armed Conservative black man at another does not get a beatdown by union thugs. Does that answer it for you?

WTF is a assault rifle? Besides there was only one person carrying a rifle. A semi auto rifle. Your as bad as MSNBC. Get your facts straight before you male a fool of yourself again.
I’ve been a cop for 33 years, have been shot at and stabbed. I wasn’t shot at by a law-abiding citizen carrying a weapon as was his or legal right. I was stabbed by a criminal during a disturbance. I’ll guarantee most of the cops there had the hairs on the back of their necks raised a little bit… that’s how we survive. Once they figured out he was carrying legally and the purpose for him doing it was to remind government officials of our basic constitutional rights as citizens… they weren’t that worried about him. I’m sick and tired, as a cop, of being lumped in with political hacks that make it to Commisioner or Chief that want to ban different types of weaponry to EVERYONE… while they, as police officers can carry a weapon to protect him or herself and their families or the politicians that have secret service, armed to the hilt protecting them telling the rest of the citizenry they shouldn’t carry handguns or protect themselves. Most of us want the bad guys not to have them and the good guys to carry them if they wish. We want the laws enforced to the maximum if bad guys use guns and we want good citizens to be able to protect themselves and their families. I’ve been stabbed so let’s ban all sharp implements and make them illegal? I’ve been hit with cars so let’s ban cars as illegal weapons? Come on! We’d be happy if we kept the criminals and nuts from carrying weapons. Leave normal citizens alone. P.S. I’ve been a plainclothes detective for three decades so I know how uniformed police react to armed people and their attitudes once they feel safe. Most of us don’t have a problem with it. In many instances we actually feel comforted by it. Things happen, there are always going to be exceptions and bad things that happen involving good people. As a cop, I know it, have trained for it, have been given the responsibility and job to protect others from it and occasionally we die or get hurt. I assure you we don’t blame gun manufacters or every other citizen out there that plays by the rules.
