Congress to Americans: Obamacare Good Enough for You But Not Us

Check out the video of Rep. Niki Tsongas of Massachussetts trying to explain to her constituents why she won’t take the pill she’s prescribing for the rest of us. It starts at the 4 min mark.

CONSTITUENT: My question to you, Congresswoman Tsongas, is that if this is such a great plan, why did you opt out of it when you took the vote [loud applause, standing ovation]?

TSONGAS: People often say why don’t the American people have what those of us in Congress have. [Audience erupts] Let me explain what I have. Let me explain what I have. What I have is a tremendous array — you know, last year when I went to a discussion — what I have is a tremendous array of choices. And I made a choice based on what I was willing to pay for and what made sense in terms of coverage for me and my family. [Audience shouts out: "We want choice! We want choice!] This is essentially what we are creating for the American people. We are creating greater choice.

Pitiful! This axiom applies: Beware the cook who won’t eat his own food.

In an earlier post, Warner Todd Huston posted this apt quote:

“The House of Representatives … can make no law which will not have
its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as the
great mass of society. This has always been deemed one of the
strongest bonds by which human policy can connect the rulers and the
people together. It creates between them that communion of interest,
and sympathy of sentiments, of which few governments have furnished
examples; but without which every government degenerates into
tyranny.” – James Madison

I fully support the ACLU. I guess some people are happy with losing their civil rights and letting the government walk all over them.

I support everyone’s right to express their opinion as they should mine. Its what make America, America.

At one time, American Patriots were considered terrorists by the British, [edited].

read a book and turn off fox. Learn the history of the founding fathers, the ACLU is fighting for everyone’s rights. If not, people would still be blacklisted as “communists”. Yet another tool by the wealthy to divide and conquer lower class whites AS THEY ALWAYS HAVE.

    have a good day.

Ah, the repeated revisionist history again.

The BRITISH perteptrated terrorist tactics against the Colonists.

Forcing people to house Brit military, confiscation of property, people disappearing in the middle of the night, beatings, killings.

Nice try, but you are up against people who actually study history here.
