ACLU: That Fishy Email Thing Ain’t No Big Deal

You just have to trust Barry, cause he is just so cute and fuzzy!

The ACLU said in a statement to FOXNews.com that the White House blog is a “bad idea that could send a troublesome message.”

But the organization added, “While it is unclear at this point what the government is doing with the information it is collecting, critics of the administration’s health care proposal should not fear that their names will end up in some government database that could be used to chill their right to free speech.”

As Slublog at Ace of Spades points out, the ACLU was all up in arms about something Ari Fleisher said years back. Nowadays, you just have to trust Obama. They already blew me off about it. Oh, how times change.

Say, as an added note, I wonder how the ACLU feels about the demonization of the anti-government health system protesters by the President, along with many others?

The First Amendment guarantees us all the right to express our views and be heard by our elected officials. For years, the ACLU has fought the White House policy of shielding the president from dissent. The First Amendment protects the right to free speech, but that right is undermined if protesters can’t be heard.

Anyone want to bet shots of tequila that if you quoted those words back to the ACLU regarding the demonization of the TEA Party folks, they would blow you off like $10……. well, you know.

Update by Jay: It was a big deal when the Bush admin. was collecting names of known terrorists… then the ACLU got all huff and puff!

ACLU proves once again they do not care about the rights of Americans!!! That is why when I get out of law school. I will fight those terrorist ACLU a**holes!!!

a big non-response from the MD ACLU to my request to them. The sheer intellectual dishonesty of it is breathtaking.

ACLU is all about “civil liberties” for the lunatic left fringe of American society. Anyone who does not concur with that point of view gets the Marxist-style counter-revolutionary treatment with regard to definitions of free speech. “American Civil Liberties Union” does not concern American values or civil liberties any more than then “democratic ‘peoples’ republics” (a common euphemism for communist states) uphold democratic values or care about the “people” they represent as a whole.

The double standards and hypocrisy by The Democrats and the aclu over the Patriot Act Vs. collecting data on medical records conjoined with a “snitch site” for people against the health care bill is stunning. Moreover, the biggest danger is not President 44 and his merry Cabal but the vaunted “fourth estate” acting as a shield for this group and demonizing the “average”citizen.

You are misquoting the ACLU’s statement to FOX News. What it actually said was that critics of the administration’s health care proposal should not HAVE TO fear that their names will end up in some government database that could be used to chill their right to free speech.

Surely you agree with that. You shouldn’t twist the truth just to support your opinions.

That is just like the old canard, “if you haven’t done anything wrong, than you shouldn’t worry about the police searching you.”

Answer me this, Rachel: if Bush was president, or McCain, would you be upset about this program?

Isn’t that special? The ACLU thinks that we can now trust the government.

The ACLU certainly does not think we can trust the government and opposes many of Obama’s policies actively.

Just because they didn’t give you a personalized, catered response, or any response, doesn’t mean they support the Obama administrations policies. They’re busy, they don’t have time for every one, loser !

The white house blog collecting emails of “myths”, as if they can’t follow the media, or as if it’s their business to respond to rumours instead of presenting their positions fully, is disturbing and moronic. But that seems to be what the Obama team decided to become, as you can see by the Fox News and WH press man Bill Burton, with his slimy, transparent, “more clever than you” talking points.

You’ve conflated the ACLU with elitist, sarcastic America-hating wealthy liberals. Once you do that, of course you’ll dismiss the ACLU as destructive junk.

But if you would get some rhetoric and believe there are freedoms beyond partisanship, you’d see the value in the ACLU.
I thought the Liberty in the constitution was the one referred to in ACLU.
Maybe you’d rather America was more like Red China, capitalist economy, ok sure fine, but no free speech.

I guess you only like conservative liberties, not controversial liberties. Some American you are.

I’m just giddy watching all this crap come back to bite the left in azz. The Obamamites and ACL-ICU are being blind sided by their own stupidity.
