John, along with the likes of Peter Singer and Steven Pinker, are only being logically consistent in their pro-choice beliefs. I’m sure in the future more people will be as well.

I mean, just think about it. Babies…I mean, neonates (baby is just an emotional term religious nuts use), are not sentient or self-aware, much like a fetus. No one else but the parents have any emotional attachment to them. If they were allowed to have them murdered, I mean, aborted, by a doctor, there would be fewer unwanted children in the world. Afterall, it is better to be dead than unwanted.

It would help with that pesky human “overpopulation” problem too. Aborting neonates is green!

Perhaps we could also them use them for science. Their tissue, organs and stem cells could be used to help actual sentient and self-aware human persons. Afterall, the life of a cute little 5-year-old girl with a family who loves her is worth more than an unwanted neonate that functions mainly on instinct, right? Besides, we already use lab rats and mice in experiments, which are way more cognitively advanced than neonates.

Plus we wouldn’t have to arrest those poor, scared mothers who have to smother their unwanted newborns or throw them in dumpsters or just get fed up with caring for them. Surely the right of a parasitic organism that functions mainly on instinct shouldn’t trump the rights of a sentient and self-aware woman. That’s so anti-woman. I mean, we let people euthanize dogs and cats, which are much more cognitively advanced than a neonate. Its not like humans are special or anything; they’re just another animal on the planet.

Even if we keep God out of the equation; who could sanction that sort of a belief. If there was truth to this logicc, the gestation period would be 2 years and 9 months, and we’d have to pipe in some sort of mantra so that when the child actually arrives, he/she is suitably “socialized.”(I guess we can take that any way we like.) If I were to choose to be Godless, I would be no more inclined to subscribe to this sort of idiocy. Who does this guy think he is; actually, the bigger question is whether a portion of our government is now a think tank for genocide. Let’s see, we have a gentleman who claims that white people are the polluters, another who feels that we shouldn’t waste resources on people, based on a cost/benefit assessment of their usefulness, and yet another who doesn’t think human life matters until a child is at least 2 years old. Hmmm, maybe we can single out the white “polluters”, get rid of any over the age of 45, and under 2, and start getting the environment back under control!Oops…who’s going to pay for all this?

A few years ago, I was part or an intercessory prayer group. I am constantly reminded of how true Epesians 6:12 is…..our battle is really against the rulers of darkness(Satan and his demons). When I become angered, disturbed, saddened by ignorance such as that proclaimed by Holdren I now understand I am being called to prayer. There is nothing more powerful, especially when it comes with love, humility, and self denial. I remember how I too was “once blind but now I see.” I remember that God loves Mr. Holdren too and desires for his salvation. I remember that no matter how unjust things seem, God is in control and in the end there is always God’s justice as well as His mercy.
