Obama’s Science Czar: Babies Aren’t Human Until They’ve Been Socialized

A large part of the horror of abortion lies in the monstrous presumption of liberals declaring that human life begins not at conception, but whenever they say it does. Maybe that’s six weeks, maybe six months. Maybe it’s years. Obama’s Science Czar John Holdren (the guy who wanted to put a sterilizing agent in our drinking water) gives us an idea of how slippery this slope can get. From his book Human Ecology: Problems and Solutions, via Patterico’s Pontifications:
The fetus, given the opportunity to develop properly before birth, and given the essential early socializing experiences and sufficient nourishing food during the crucial early years after birth, will ultimately develop into a human being.
We knew that human fetuses aren’t human, according to liberal ideology. Now we learn that they remain nonhuman even after they are born, until such a time as priests of The State like Holdren deem them to have been sufficiently socialized.
Genocide has long been used by progressives to advance their objectives. Violating his pact with Stalin put Hitler out of favor, but Margaret Sanger — who openly advocated industrial-scale abortion as a form of social engineering — is still a hero to our rulers.
If they can kill babies, who wouldn’t they kill? Their only restraint is their squeamishness, which they overcome with bogus euphemisms (CHOICE!) and by yelling inane bumper sticker slogans (SAFE LEGAL AND RARE!) loudly enough to drown out thought. Once you turn against God, conscience isn’t a factor.

Small correction: Sanger was actually anti-abortion (oh the irony) but pro-mass-sterilization.

I don’t think anybody in government is proposing letting babies die legally. But declaring a fetus as a human is a religious choice and has its own slippery slope. (Does a smoking pregnant woman get charged for reckless homicide if she has a miscarriage?)
Keep religion out of politics. If you choose not to have abortions, if your church says not to, that’s fine, but don’t force your brand of religion on everyone else.
Quit bending things way out of proportion with your sensationalist hatred. Try to make an objective, non-biased presentation of your views, with pros and cons for both views, and then let me form my own decision on the issue. Also, please stop using religious views to try to bludgeon and intimidate people to your will. There indeed are secular people with capabilities to make good decisions without a threat of God and eternal damnation in the pits of fire to hang over them.

Let me get this straight. Babies aren’t human until they are fully functioning??? Oh! so that means that there is nothing wrong with murdering mentally retarded, blind, and deaf people! A fetus cannot fully hear, see, or has a completely, properly developed brain. So why not! Well, if it’s just because it’s a woman’s choice, then shouldn’t all parents be allowed to kill their child at will, if they deem the child improperly developed- it is their property.
The man in California who killed all of his children and wife due to economical problems is not guilty of murder- he just “aborted” them.

Hey I agree with him, you should be able to kill any of your kids you want to until they are 18 and become adults. Plus I also think you should be able to beat your wife with a stick as long as it is not thicker than a Louisville Slugger…

I think people voted for Obama was because they wanted change. Didn’t know what kind of change, but wanted something different. Well, we are getting something different all right. It’s time for people to get out and vote and voice their opinions, or are just going to sit back and take this CHANGE coming from Washington? Call your congressmen and senators and let them know how you feel about the healtcare reform and other bills you do not agree with. You do not want to loose this right.

A few years ago, I was part or an intercessory prayer group. I am constantly reminded of how true Epesians 6:12 is…..our battle is really against the rulers of darkness(Satan and his demons). When I become angered, disturbed, saddened by ignorance such as that proclaimed by Holdren I now understand I am being called to prayer. There is nothing more powerful, especially when it comes with love, humility, and self denial. I remember how I too was “once blind but now I see.” I remember that God loves Mr. Holdren too and desires for his salvation. I remember that no matter how unjust things seem, God is in control and in the end there is always God’s justice as well as His mercy.
Even if we keep God out of the equation; who could sanction that sort of a belief. If there was truth to this logicc, the gestation period would be 2 years and 9 months, and we’d have to pipe in some sort of mantra so that when the child actually arrives, he/she is suitably “socialized.”(I guess we can take that any way we like.) If I were to choose to be Godless, I would be no more inclined to subscribe to this sort of idiocy. Who does this guy think he is; actually, the bigger question is whether a portion of our government is now a think tank for genocide. Let’s see, we have a gentleman who claims that white people are the polluters, another who feels that we shouldn’t waste resources on people, based on a cost/benefit assessment of their usefulness, and yet another who doesn’t think human life matters until a child is at least 2 years old. Hmmm, maybe we can single out the white “polluters”, get rid of any over the age of 45, and under 2, and start getting the environment back under control!Oops…who’s going to pay for all this?
