Obama Upset About Rushed Legislation. In 2004

Just for reference, the Patriot Act, while seemingly rushed, was mostly comprised of legislation that was sitting around for a long time, as well as strengthening of existing law, and adding stuff to existing law.

But, anyway, we have to pass legislation which would, in effect, turn America into France. It’s like turning baseball into cricket, football into soccer, hockey into figure skating.

Some parts of the Patriot Act are blatantly unconstitutional and should have never been passed by Congress.

Of course some parts of the Cap and Trade legislation were also blatantly unconstitutional and Obama pushed that through the House.

I do not have enough information about the health care legislation being proposed but I suspicion that at least parts of it are also unconstitutional. Of course how would our legislators know since they do not bother to read the legislation before voting on it and even if they did the courts may choose to change the meaning.
