Camp McCain Investigated, And Dismissed, Barry Birth Conspiracy
I know, I know, everyone likes to dismiss the birther movement as comprised solely of wackos, and, quite frankly, most of the leaders are true wackos, digging into this and that, feeding off each others conspiracy theories. But, even Camp McCain investigated, and found them lacking. Why? (via Just One Minute)
“To the extent that we could, we looked into the substantive side of these allegations,” said Potter. “We never saw any evidence that then-Senator Obama had been born outside of the United States. We saw rumors, but nothing that could be sourced to evidence. There were no statements and no documents that suggested he was born somewhere else. On the other side, there was proof that he was born in Hawaii. There was a certificate issued by the state’s Department of Health, and the responsible official in the state saying that he had personally seen the original certificate. There was a birth announcement in the Honolulu Advertiser, which would be very difficult to invent or plant 47 years in advance.”
Look, I’ve written, and said, time and time again that, IMO, Obama is a natural born citizen till proven otherwise by concrete evidence.
On the flip side, a birth announcement from back then is not proof of birth. Anyone could have placed it, and, who at a paper would check it? That Certificate of Live Birth that was printed in 2006 and first showed up on the Daily Kos? Real, IMO. However, just 40+ years ago, it would have been easy to claim a birth, as people did not always have them at a hospital. So, as Tom Maguire writes

You didn’t, and don’t, see them streaming to Russia and China, do you? And, yeah, I know it is a stretch. And I will continue to say that Obama is a natural born citizen till I see concrete proof. But, it does get me wondering why it is so tough for Obama to pony up $10 and go “here. A real copy of my birth certificate.” I’ll give him $10. Instead, he and the Democrats are fighting off lawsuit after lawsuit, spending lots of money. Why? Granted, most of the suits are wackadoodle. But, it gets me wondering. Not much, but, a tiny tiny bit.
It also gets me wondering about journalistic curiosity. Most of them poo poo the idea, but, said almost nothing about the 9/11 Twoofer idiocy. Imagine it was McCain who was president, and people were going off with their “McCain was born in Panama, he can’t be considered natural born!!!” foolishness, which showed up not only on the DU and lefty sites, but, the New York Times in February 2008 (shortly after it appeared on the DU.) Then again in July, 2008.
One thing to consider, though, is that the Left can marginalize much of the Right by allowing them to continue going full bore on this issue. Yes, it would be nice to see the full document. But, do not overdo it, folks. There are bigger fights out there. On the flip side, I once asked Captain Ed, back when he was still doing it solo on Captains Quarters, why he argued with the Twoofers. He said that it is important to knock the conspiracies down. Might it also be important to investigate the claims of the birthers? Some. Not all, of course. Some are way too wacky. But, we knocked down the Twoofer stuff with facts. Why wouldn’t we do the same here?

The simple problem is this: why doesn’t he just produce the doc and be done with it? McCain had the bloody Senate end up certifying him and everyone knew he was legit without them going that extra step and Obama can’t just cough up a ten buck sheet of paper??
I’ve heard some (on the right!) say that he has no duty to do so, or to knuckle under to the “birthers” (this from the fair-to-a-fault Ed Morrissey, iirc) but considering that you do have to be a bloody natural born citizen to be president and that a cert of live birth won’t even get you into Canada these days, I think the “birthers” have a valid point, even if a lot of them are nuts.

First, the Certification of Live Birth is a real birth certificate. In fact, it is the ONLY birth certificate that Hawaii now issues to people who ask for copies of their birth certificate. (http://www.starbulletin.com/features/20090606_kokua_line.html)
That being the case, unless Obama has a copy of the original birth certificate sent to his parents, and not lost it (and many of us do lose our original birth certificates, particularly during moves), then all that he can show is what Hawaii sent him, and Hawaii sends out only the Certification of Live Birth.
McCain should have investigated a lot further. Obama is HIDING birth records, school records, etc. Why? No one else would get away with this. If there is nothing to hide, provide the details.
Because while the people pressing the suits are using their money, he’d not using a dime of his to defend himself. Instead, money that could be going to defeat his health care plan, his stimulus bill, his cap and trade bill, etc is being wasted on these lawsuits.
Imagine how many Republican candidates come 2010 will wish they had some of that crazy lawsuit money that Republicans threw down a rathole.
I would like you to tell me why it is so inconceivable that Obama was not eligible. While you do that, ponder this:
Why did it take an act of Congress in april of last year to qualify McCain?
If you think one parent is sufficient then why is this in the congressional minutes pertaining to McCain and S.Res. 511 that “since BOTH McCains parents were US citizens as required by Article II section I clause 5 of the constitution”.
read all about it in the foreign affairs manual part that clearly states the Supreme court has never ruled if children born to 2 citizen parents off of US soil, is eligible to be President!

And that senate res 511..the paper it is written on is worth more than the resolution, it will never stand up in a court of law, because you see we have that silly little process we have to go through to amend the constitution and they have been trying to change it for over 10 years now, You can read all about that in congressional minutes also if you ever took the time to do your homework!!!
And why did an Obama co-worker/lawyer in 2006 write that the natural born citizen clause is out dated and discriminates against those only having one citizen parent and called our founding fathers paranoid.
And, why is history so hard for all of you to grasp. It is because of conservatives like you that this country is being destroyed from within.

Read this and stand up for BO demonstrating eligibility, which he has yet to do, and do not fall for folks on either the right or left who do not have the facts who try to straw-man decoy and use ad hominem invective to call true reporters “birthers” (tin foilers)to avoid intellectual analysis.
BTW, being eligible is NOT the same thing as arguing BO is a proven foreign born person, investigating and trying to verify facts is good reporting and respect for the Constitution, something Conservatives USED to care about, before they feared labels by people who do not care about US law.
A laser printed COLB is NOT a birth certificate, a newspaper ad is NOT proof of anything relevant to this case. It is O’s burden to meet, as he must comport with the Constitutional requirements, not ours to assume unless WE can prove it, when HE and his lawyers have fought this tooth and nail instead of producing the long form BC.
Such a document is very tough to fake, if it is real and original. We learned in minutes in the 2004 election what a copy means, over the Bush records in the service, and they mean diddly squat. You need the original.
We are told a state official (I think as in the singular) has seen the original and claims it is there in the state records and is original. How about independent third parties looking at the original? A judge? Not too much to ask for being in comport with US law and POTUS, eh?
O has NOT met the requirements for eligibility UNTIL we see the original, and should NOT be given credit by anyone until he does by compliance. We do not know the hospital he was born in, and we *could* know that with the long form.
So, where’s the document. Want me to send you 10 bucks to get the ball rolling?
Oh, and before you come ack and say it is too late, I would refer you to the 20th amendment.

And about that children of miltary being eligible in the new proposal, well, it isn’t in there because they do not want to make it easy for pariotic americans who are serving to uphold the constituion to be eligible.
In closing, you might be interested to know that in Jan of this year a bill was introduced to repeal the 25th amendment, thus ending term limits for presidents also.

I don’t often chime in on these conversations, but it is to my understanding that US military installations count as American soil. If that is the case and presuming McCain was born on said installation, why jump through the hoops? Just my 2 cents.
Your readers might also be interested in this since it took less than 100 yrs for it to happen the 1st time, and due to everything in paper, the usurper was able to detroy his evidence by fire, atleast he thought he did. A historian uncovered the one document to prove Arthur’s deceit in December and the only think that usurper managed to destory was our citizenship laws by appointing a supreme court justice who didn’t have a problem usurping the law and writing an opinion as to sanitize the usurpers citizenship deceit. That was 127 years ago, imagine what Sotomayor along with all the other lib justices could get done if her confirmation stands. Are you ready to officially become the USSA? PBS had a special last year on all the presidents and they confirm the history of this, but they refused also to do the really ahrd work of uncovering the one document that showed chester arthur was not a us citizen at birth. you see jurisdiction and soil go hand in hand, it was the reason for the war of 1812 when Great Britian was still trying to hold citizenship over the citizens that fought for our freedom from them. Great Britian held the belief that soil only determined jusrisdiction. The framers made sure that could not happen and thus they made parentage also part of the citizenship process for children born on US soil. This is also why the the anchor baby statute is such a problem, but it wouldn’t be if the actual law/constitution was upheld. Thus, if one parent is a foreigner or if the child is born on foreign soil, that child is subject to the jurisdiction of a foreign government and I would bet to guess, since Obama’s mother was more intrigued with foreigners, since she married them 2x and spent most of her adult life overseas, it is does not take a great leap of faith to come to the conclusion that US soil did not mean much to her. But also, I am not convinced of a Kenyan birth either, but we have the divorce documents that show Obama was adopted by Lolo Soetoro, thus I am sure that is why he doesn’t want his original BC shown. I believe he didn’t take care of his citizenship status properly when he came of age and thus the reason the one online shows his records were altered in 200o or 2001, I can’t remember right off hand, but this is when he became a state senator and thus would have been the 1st time he needed a US passport.
I am coming at this with the law, with unbiased logic and common sense with fear for the ramifications of us loosing something so special to enemies with. Everything our founding fathers used when framing the Constitution.
Like I said, they did not put the presidential qualifications on for no good reason. They knew what it was like to live under tyranny and they gave us all the tools in the 20th amendment to keep it from happening, now if Americans would only wake up!!!

I paid the fee and the state of New York health department sent me a short form birth certificate similar to the one President Obama displays. I do not even know if I can get a long form one if I asked. From what I have seen Hawaii is not that different than New York.

I believe Citizenry is inherited by your children as long as you did not renounce your allegiance so a child of a U.S. Citizen is an American citizen no matter where they are born.
We play fast and loose with the laws in order to claim the children of illegal migrants born in the U.S. as U.S. citizens.

In 1980, Congress re-instated the requirement that young men register with the Selective Service System. At that time it was required that all males, born on or after January 1, 1960 register with the Selective Service System.
Did B. Obama ever register?
The conspiracy is only on Obama’s part. His long vault birth certificate exists and he can obtain a copy. It would document both parents, hospital or place of birth, doctor, time of birth and so forth. He can obtain a copy of this. Sure when you write in for a certificate you get the short one, but if you go there you can actually get the long one. He chooses not to for whatever reason, perhaps his father is not listed or is someone else.
I just find it disconcerting that our own Congress does not make sure those running for President do not prove they are constituionally eligible, that they just assume they are….natural born means on US soil, not just born to citizens.
It’s just strange that no doctor’s family has come forward and said their dad/mom attended the birth of our new president, or any neighbors or anyone.

why do you think all his college records are sealed? You can not get govt college loans unless you sign up per the law and they are very strict about that requirement. Obama’s records would prove just another lie he told, it would prove that he didn’t have all those so called college loans to pay off, so then the next question is, who paid for his college?

Krystal, what we know of the online form is that his original was altered in 11/01.
If you look at the bottom left corner of the COLB, you will see REV. 11/01 …this is the last time his birth certificate file was openned and there were alterations made. So just what were those alterations?
inquiring minds want to know, my guess is he is correcting the fact he never took care of his citizenship status when he came of age and dropped the Indonesian citizenship from his adoption.
Remember, once born in the US, you can never loose your citizenship through the acts of your parents, but when you become of age, you only have a certain amount of time to regain the US citizenship you had at birth and I am betting that is what happened. Hence, the reason for the 14 yr requirement but you have to go back further than that and since he was an IL state senator, he would have had to have his citizenship re-established no later than 1994
kerwin, while some states will mail out a short form, as far as I know all states will only give out a copy of the long form in person. I am in SD, was born in MN and I can not even apply for a short or long form on line, I have to drive to the country I was born in or to the state office in the twin cities.

Kerwin, I refer you back to the foreign affairs manual, children born abroad do NOT automatically become citizens, upon return to the states, their parents have to fill out paper work and then they are naturalized.
may I also point out that at the bottom of Obama’s COLB, it clearly states that “any alterations invalidate this document”, thus it is not an acceptable document for legal purposes. so the mear fact that the document locator number is blacked out, invalidates the online COLB as proof of birth.

The most compelling evidence that Obama was not born in Hawaii is the complete absence of anecdotal reports of his birth. There are no Americans talking about the baby shower held for his mother, no Americans showing snapshots of baby Barack, no Americans who were in the hospital or the birthing room. The MSM is so supportive of Barack that if they could have an article with baby pics and personal memories of bringing Barry home, it would be on the news 24/7.
It is impossible to believe that everyone who remembers Barack’s birth has died. These people have not come forward because they do not exist. His birth record in Hawaii was fabricated and it doesn’t bother him a whit that he’s breaking our laws to hold office.
I try to stay away from conspiracy theories — but in this case I have gradually been convinced to become a birther. The lack of anecdotal evidence has convinced me.
