It is part of her hutzpah, her bravado, and all people are entitled to that. (In the same way, Trent Lott's comment should never have been blown out of proportion... it was merely a comment... but that's another issue) What IS concerning about Sotomayor is her apparent propensity to use her position to make law, rather than interpret - and that is very clear. She is now saying the opposite of what she has done and believed, she will say what she has to say to get appointed, like all people of her ilk, she will PRETEND to be conservative, she will wear the sheepskin in order to get the position, and then she will claim a mandate for the views she kept hidden, saying you knew all along who she was, and should never have believed what you knew to be false, you knew she was only saying it to get in. Just as Obama has always played the duplicitous role, going to church so as to appear religious, saying the right words so as to appear to be moderate... These people are liars unlike anything we have ever seen before, because they have the full force of a machine behind them, promoting and covering for them. She knows she is lying, as does Obama. What will we do about it? Nothing. There's nothing to be done.
