Breaking: Senator Al Franken

Posted on June 30, 2009

Excuse me while I vomit! Is this the first unfunny comedian to become a senator? I don’t know, but he is a joke and it’s not funny.

It is U.S. Sen. Al Franken.
The Minnesota Supreme Court today decided that Franken, a Democrat, won the highest number of votes in last year’s U.S. Senate race and deserves a signed election certificate.
The court said that Republican Norm Coleman didn’t prove that a lower court made mistakes requiring a rehearing of the case. Coleman had asked the court to order thousands of rejected absentee ballots counted. He had hoped the counting would allow him to overcome Franken’s 312-vote lead.

This could go to the Federal Courts, but it probably won’t. We’re probably stuck with this guy for a while.

Well, they’ve got the 60 votes now, so whatever mess exists, it’s theirs, so I’ll bet that they stop crying Bush Bush Cheney now right…

    Right??

    Oh well.

I’ll give Franken one thing: he’s already recorded a first.

He may not be the first senator to arrive on the Hill with his own supply of Depends, but he’s certainly the first to have been photographed in them….

Here is a little more about the court ruling: http://www.newsy.com/videos/franken_funnyman_or_senator
But ultimately this is good for the GOP, a Dem super-majority means that any problems, or pitfalls will be blamed on them.
