What About Obama’s Promise Not to Raise Taxes?

Posted on June 29, 2009

Hey, remember when Obama promised no taxes would be raised on folks making less than $250G? What about that now? Well, apparently there is a “process” and it’s something to laugh about!

Remember what happened to the last President that broke his promise about not raising taxes? Read my lips, he didn’t get re-elected!

Well, that cap and tax fiasco, is basically raising taxation on everyone already.

Lies about earmarks, lobbyists, transparency, presidential signing statements, etc.

    Same old Democratic Partisan Swindle…

Why would anyone, anywhere on Earth believe him when he said that he’d do all of these social programs without taxing the middle class?

It’s basic math, and he and the American people got it wrong.

How did people vote for this fraud?

He has already raised taxes on everyone that smokes. It is an additional $6.20 per carton of federal cigarette tax, to provide health coverage for adult, so called children up to the age of 26.The cost of a carton of cigarettes went up 10 dollars here in Savannah,Georgia. When you pay federal taxes on cigarettes, the State charges you taxes on the taxes. I believe that most smokers are lower to low-middle income like myself, who can not afford their own health coverage, but now have to make sure that healthy young adults don’t have to worry. And with the economy so bad people are nervous and worried, and smokers smoke even more. What a shame to punish people in such hard times. And who gave congress the right to call me a sinner. Where is the separation of church and state in that? No one has the right to judge me, but God himself!!!

I believe we haven’t seen anything yet. Lived in Germany back in the 70’s,on the economy they called it. My husband was in the army,we had to wait a year for government housing on the army base. The German people had to pay taxes on everything of value in their house. My landlord said they came through and made a list of everything you owned, for tax purposes. Televisions, radios, washers etc. I think we are very quickly headed in that direction.

Actually, the increase in the Fed tobacco tax was from $.31/pk to $1.00/pk- which would be $6.90/carton.

I hope you don’t live in California– the Dems there want another $1.50/pack in taxes to help balance their state budget…

No,I live in Georgia and thank God for that.
I love my state. We live in a little town outside of Savannah, quiet and peaceful. No crime to speak of until the last few years. Hordes of new people have moved in that don’t seem to have the same desire for the country atmosphere. They moved here for our schools and lower taxes. Now all of that has changed. We now have skyrocketing taxes and even bomb threats at the schools, what a shame. So glad my kids are grown up and out of school.
