Boehner: Climate bill a ‘pile of s–t’
Posted on June 28, 2009
Every time I hear about this Boehner guy I seem to like him more. I can’t help but like someone that calls things what they are.
Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) had a few choice words about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) landmark climate-change bill after its passage Friday.
When asked why he read portions of the cap-and-trade bill on the floor Friday night, Boehner told The Hill, “Hey, people deserve to know what’s in this pile of s–t.”
Using his privilege as leader to speak for an unlimited time on the House floor, Boehner spent an hour reading from the 1200-plus page bill that was amended 20 hours before the lower chamber voted 219-212 to approve it.
Eight Republicans voted with Democrats to pass the bill; 44 House Democrats voted against it.
By the way, if you wanna know who the eight are…no problem.

Indeed…not one red cent.

Amazing how people will vote in something else they haven’t read after the stimulus bill fiasco. At least, Boehner tried to get some of it read to the representatives (& I use the term loosely since we can’t reach them!)I like this guy Boehner too. Imagine having practicality in government! What a concept!

This administration is a pile of s–t!
Boehner for president!! I cannot believe the house passed this bill. What were they thinking? Ooops my mistake they aren’t capable of thinking. Imagine droping a 300 page plus amendment at 3:09 in the morning before the vote. How many even bothered to read it besides John Boehner? I give him a lot of credit for trying to inform the public of this fiasco. I can only hope the senate has more sense.
I listened as Boehner read, listing highlights of the extra 300 pages, and was appalled thinking that no sane person would vote for this bill. If only this could have been broadcasted instead of the prattle over Michael Jackson, maybe the outcome would have been different. When “the people” learn about this travisty and begin to lose their jobs, there will be a price to pay.

One good thing I can say about the Iranians: when THEIR government behaves disgracefully, they RIOT IN THE STREETS. I’ll take John for now though….
All the more reason to NOT vote for any incumbent, from your local dog catcher to the president.
Imagine criticizing him for actually reading the bill. Do these democrats and 8 idiot republicans think we won’t know they did not read this bill? How could they vote for this unless they are looking for favors. And it would not surprise me to learn that democrats who voted against it will not be fodder for ACORN to come up with money to terrorize them, like the stimulus bill. It has already started in ND. If you have a democrat in your district that voted agisnt the bill, call him up and thank him, so he will hear voices encouraging him, since they will hear plenty of voices against them. even if you are a republican give thema pat on the back for trying to save us from this bill. make sure they know they have support when it gets voted on again.
John Boehner is a congressman from a very safe Republican district in Ohio. A district next to the one I have lived in all my life.
He has been a fence rider most of his time in office and has been House Republican leader during the slam dunk victories by Democrats the last few years.
He seems to always know when to act tough when personal political hay can be made, but saddles up to his Democrat opponents when the bullets are flying.
I find it amazing how those “conservatives” who only know what they know about current politics is what they glean from blog sites are anxious to make this guy king of the hill when he is only doing now what he has always done when the opportunity presented itself.
