I am a liberal and do not agree with this decision. It is not liberal doctrine, but corruption of the human spirit that allows these situations to occur. I am the first to disagree with the stance of the Republican party and will ask every conservative exactly what the party can do for minorities except discriminate. Yes, I do know there are minorities in the party (which shocked me actually) but to terminate an employee because they are Republican is never something that is endorsed. But such is life, I have faced this same discrimination while living here in Texas (conservatives are very mean with this). I do not blame the republican party or their rhetoric, I blame the people.

We finally went outside the Lawrence area for publicity on this. Fox News picked it up and interviewed the teacher (twice) with two students. The Lawrence Schools superintendent reinstated the teacher Tim Latham and told us he had investigated and everything we had told him was true! There you go! It pays to stand up to this type of nonsense. I don’t think it hurt to publicize it nationally also!

I’m appalled and disgusted by this dismissal but not at all surprised. The entire public education is infected with liberalism and they attack (often openly) anyone who doesn’t conform. I homeschooled my youngest to avoid this problem. There is a “Separation of School and State” organization. I recommend joining that.

As a school board member for 13 years If we fired teachers because we don’t agree with their suspected political leanings there would be but a couple left.
What really gets me is I’m in lefter than left Oregon where you would think this situation would be more likely; not in Kansas.
This proves that the entire public education system has been infected with Liberal Doctrine.
