I was living in Alabama when the abortion clinic in Birmingham was bombed. A retired police officer moonlighting as a security guard was killed and a nurse was severely injured. I can remember hearing the same kind of rhetoric about how the anti-choice beliefs foster violence. I remember listening to a report on NPR where the announcer said ‘Anti-abortion activists were quick to denounce this bombing but…’ They then went on to interview someone in the pro-choice movement who basically brushed aside all the denunciations of the violence and claimed that violence was an integral part of the ‘anti-choice’ movement.

I was back here in Missouri again when Eric Rudolph, the man responsible for the B’ham bombing, was arrested. I stopped dead in my tracks when the news announcer called him ‘pro-life.’ Calling him pro-life was a sneaky dirty trick, especially when the news media refuses to use the term except for when it suits them.

The Muslim extremist that shot that recruiter is a home grown terrorist, action out of nothing but hate for the United States. The nut who killed the Dr. was motivated out of concern, however misguided, for the unborn.

Everyone knows that there exists an abortion debate, but there are many of people (slate!!) who think that there is no homegrown Muslim terror threat. After those 4 who were arrested in NY, and now this guy, I hope that it’s clear that one does, at long last, exist

Doug, now you are just being dishonest. The left has made it a point to paint ALL OF THEIR opponents with the psycho murderer brush. This is an attempt to silence us while they push their agenda. We know this and so do you. So please, go elsewhere to push your lies. I’m sure you’d be quite welcome at Megan McCain’s blog.

Who here wants to bet the lefties will refuse to accept responsiblity for their role in inciting the shooting at the recruiting station. Especially in light of all the military bashing over the past few years-even from DEM CONGRESSMEN.

It’s not the entire pro-life movement, it’s the violent part of the pro-life movement which has been responsible for the following, since 1989:

24 murders and attempted murders
Nearly 200 bombings or attempted bombings
Thousands of cases of assault/burglary/stalking/etc Thousands more cases of hate mail/calls, etc, etc

If your path to changing the law means you have to kill people to do it, you’re the same as the 9/11 murderers.

Whenever an abortionist kills a patient, the response of the abortion lobby is to dismiss the death as an aberration. These deaths happen about ten times a year. (That the CDC admits to.) No matter how heinous the malpractice -- having a "hand holder" assist with general anesthesia, shoving a hemorrhaging patient out the door in a wheelchair to bleed to death, massively overdosing a patient then leaving her unattended to lapse into a coma -- we're told that we're not to let these "few bad apples" color our opinion of abortion practitioners in general. Think of the hundreds of abortionists who didn't kill patients this year! But when an abortionist gets shot, the perspective changes. Suddenly the act of JUST ONE PERSON is a reflection of the roughly 160 million other people who object to abortion. His actions are representative. All those antichoicers are JUST LIKE HIM. We're not to look at the actions of the 160 million prolifers who have done nothing violent. We're only to look at this one guy. He's representative. Ten dead patients a year aren't a sign that abortionists are sloppy. One dead abortionist every ten years, however, is a sign that prolifers are violent. Which is just the sort of logic I'd expect from the movement that asserts that you honor motherhood by killing babies.

Though, of course, the lunatic who killed the Army recruiter today was a renegade who acted all alone, as I have oddly heard reported today. Why the rush to link the entire pro life movement to this gunman who took the law into his own hands? Dare we compare the two murders? Would the left care to?

No.

But, we cannot allow this act to make us stay silent in fear of reprisal. The fact is, they hate us and will always hate us. For whatever reason, the left loves this bloody act they confuse with liberty. We should feel more pity for them…if they weren’t so dangerous for ACTUAL liberty while in power.
