At one time in our history, school children were required to memorize some of the historic speeches made at the dawn of our country. One of these was Patrick Henry’s immortal statement, “Give me liberty of give me death!” I often wonder what Mr. Henry would think of the doctrine that torture “works” to keep us safe.
I’d say he’d consider it a proof of cowardice by those who didn’t believe in what the country stands for.

rrpjr, It’s not wishful thinking. Even Frank Rich is raking Obama over the coals regarding his broken promises to LGBTs (like overturning DADT) over at the New York Times. Frank Rich! Could you get any more Obamamedia?

There’s a big difference, r. After eight years of Bush, Lefties got no patience with Obama. Even the ACLU is hammering the Administration. The ranks are swelling more every day. At KOS , HuffPo, everywhere.

Just think what B. Hussein would do if he gets elected for a second term. He again will lie to the American People just like he did in the first campaign sounding like a moderate. I would hope he would never get elected for a second term but if he does, watch out for a total socialist state which would result in a complete catastrophe for our country. In my own mind, we would have a hard time recovering back to a capitalistic nation.

If the Left didn’t turn on Bill Clinton, they’re not turning on Obama. If a few fringe players rail about Obama’s impieties, Obama will just find a way to play it to his advantage as a “centrist.”

Rall has every right to be upset. Obama isn’t what he said he was. It was a lie and this type of honesty should be encouraged. Obama said what he needed to say to win, the MSM never questioned him about it, and at the same time they smeared Palin.

It is pretty clear by now that the far left isn’t as in love with the President as is the MSM. If he doesn’t start bending to their twisted will, they will continue to attack him. As you say, Mr Huston, they will LBJ him. (And the Lefty ingrates didn’t even give LBJ credit for the biggest Leftist programs since FDR, programs that even JFK couldn’t get through Congress.) They seem to be unsatisfied by anything but the total capitulation of our country to our enemies, all in the name of vaguely defined human rights, excepting those the enemy expressly violates (see sharia law). This is nothing less than a pathology.

On rereading my comment, I see I have essentially merely echoed what you have written. So be it.
