Sotomayor ‘La Raza member’
Posted on May 28, 2009
Barack Obama has picked a radical for his nominee to the Supreme Court. If her own statements are not enough to convince you of her racist attitude, perhaps the fact she belongs to an anti-white extremist group known as La Raza will.
As President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee comes under heavy fire for allegedly being a “racist,” Judge Sonia Sotomayor is listed as a member of the National Council of La Raza, a group that’s promoted driver’s licenses for illegal aliens, amnesty programs, and no immigration law enforcement by local and state police.
According the American Bar Association, Sotomayor is a member of the NCLR, which bills itself as the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S.
Meaning “the Race,” La Raza also has connections to groups that advocate the separation of several southwestern states from the rest of America.
Over the past two days, Sotomayor has been heavily criticized for her racially charged statement: “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”
The remark was actually made during a 2001 speech at the University of California’s Berkeley School of Law. The lecture was published the following year in the Berkeley La Raza Law Journal.
…..
As WND previously reported, La Raza was condemned in 2007 by former U.S. Rep. Charles Norwood, R-Ga., as a radical “pro-illegal immigration lobbying organization that supports racist groups calling for the secession of the western United States as a Hispanic-only homeland.”
Norwood urged La Raza to renounce its support of the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan – which sees “the Race” as part of an ethnic group that one day will reclaim Aztlan, the mythical birthplace of the Aztecs. In Chicano folklore, Aztlan includes California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and parts of Colorado and Texas.
If the Senate does not question her on her membership to a radical organization advocating racism, there will be a major outcry. Republicans better step up and grill this women before handing her one of the most important positions of power in the U.S.

Here would be my statement if I were a congressional conservative leader:
“This nominee is an extremist and a racist. These assertions are substantiated by her public-record comments, judicial decisions and her organizational affiliations. She has made statements which could not be more plainly racist or more offensive to the foundational ideals of America, that is, that one race is by definition more capable of wisdom than another. Additionally, she even belongs to an organization named “The Race”, which proudly and aggressively endorses violations of immigration law and even calls for the conquest and dominion over large portions of the American Southwest by racists.
The President’s spokesperson has made veiled threats against those who would question this woman’s qualification and character to be a Supreme Court justice. Activists are verbally attacking and attempting to silence those who would raise any legitimate inquiry into this wildly unqualified nominee’s rubber-stamped rise to a life-appointment to the nation’s highest court. Our response is clear and unmistakable: We will challenge this nomination on the grounds of qualifications and character, and we will not be silenced. This nomination is important enough in its precise legal implications to American life; in fact it is even more important as an indicator of how this White House and Congressional majority quietly and arrogantly intend to impose their ideological extremism over our nation. This nomination and the political debate over it will be healthy and, if allowed to fully unfold, highly educational for all Americans, and we hope that as many as possible listen to all sides and decide for themselves who really cares about freedom, justice, the rule of law and the traditions of America.”
You mean to tell me the reason I’ve made bad decisions all my life is because I’m not an Hispanic woman raised in a ghetto by a single mother?
Who knew?
It’s not going to make much difference who is chosen to fill the Supreme Court position because by the time the Obama administration is finished spending every asset America has the Chinese or the Arabs will select their own judge. There won’t be enough American workers to pay the unsustanible debt when the bill comes due. People do not realize the magnitude of what is happening right before our eyes. If I’m not mistaken the Chinese shoot you in the back of the head if you disagree with their government and the Arabs do the same or chop your head off. When Washington and America’s news media care more about politics than the American people we will all fall. So who cares who is chosen as judge? I used to care, but people just don’t realize what is going on. Racism nowadays is not about people getting treated unfairly, because of their skin color. If that were the case, Obama would not have been elected president. Racism today is a commodity bought and sold to innocent adults and children for money and power. America will be judged one day and it won’t be by a Supreme Court judge. So even if Sotomayor is racist what difference is it going to make anyway? Didn’t you know that all democrats are angels and republicans are evil according to the media?
she just can’t get on the court! the only thing i see is for obama to be deported for being an illegal muslim without a birth certificate from the USA. and then we got another wacko, Biden!
Sotomayor is a poseur like the Poser-In-Chief.
I have linked to your post from Foundations of Government, Judicial System
Racism in any form is evil; Jesus made us brothers with God’s people. It would be a dark day in history if we move away from the ideal of a color blind society, which Martin Luther King spoke of.
The NCLR does not advocate seccession. Misleading about them only *helps* them and her.
I’ve been following their activities since 2004, and my extensive summary of those activies is here.
What’s true about them is bad enough, and if people concentrate on that – especially the first, eliminationist quote – that could sink her.
Could this woman be labeled an “extremist” by Homeland Security standards? It definitely appears the Constitution of the United States doesn’t mean much to her. Looks like she is a racist and unqualified for the job, as is her ideological twin Barack Obama is to his.
Here’s a direct quote from Jose Angel Gutirrez, founder of La Raza: “We must eliminate the Gringo. I mean if worse comes to worst, we must kill him”. This is the philosophy that Ms. Sotomayor lives by. Her Messiah has given her the opportunity to bastardize the utterings of the Supremes, and everyone will applaud and yell Hosannah! Makes me want6 to barf. The only consolation I have about the anointed one being voted in, is all these college kids that are moaning about not being able to afford college next year, or that there’s no summer jobs; they should look in the mirror. They elected him, now live with it!
CHANGE that we can believe in!
Congratulation! You voted for the change, hope this is what you want:
More taxes (Canadian style Value-added tax is coming!), hyper-inflation, huge deficit, apology to the world and racism (either reverse or not, it’s still racism!) CONGRATULATION! CHANGE that we can believe in!
Hey Soccer mom, I just googled that quote and guess what; The only entry was this page that you are reading right now. Could you cite your source? Or did you just make it up?
Sorry soccermom I read the wrong name. I meant C.L. Cox.
Several posts here confuse NCLR with the La Raza Unida political party, which is a completely different organization with a completely different agenda. Jose Angel Gutierrez was one of the founders of La Raza Unida, not NCLR.
