Source: Additional NK Missile Launches Imminent

North Korea will launch what appears to be KN-01 anti-ship cruise missiles, capable of traveling 160KM, on its west coast either today or tomorrow, South Korean sources are telling Yonhap. Apparently all ships have been banned from the DPRK’s western waters from May 25th through May 27th.

I suppose this would be as good a place as any to cover the United Nations Security Council’s response to last evening’s nuclear and short-range missile tests, too. The council will reportedly issue a resolution condemning the recent activity, call for existing sanctions to be observed by all parties, and explore additional sanctions in the future. Oh, and it’ll demand that Kim Jong-Il, that love-able psychopath in Pyongyang, begin abiding by past resolutions issued by the UNSC. Because, you know, he’s shown a propensity to care what the UN thinks he should do.

Update: As I write this, Pyongyang is continuing its rhetorical sabre-rattling. The government says that America’s “hostile” policy remains unchanged under President Obama, and that the DPRK is fully prepared for any attempt by the U.S. to attack the nation. Hopenchange.™

Update 2: More now. Word is breaking across the wires that South Korea will become the 95th participant in the Proliferation Security Initiative program. The nonproliferation campaign was started by the United States and seeks to fight the trafficking of weapons of mass destruction.

Apparently Seoul made the decision to join the PSI after the April 5th long-range missile test, but withheld the announcement in hopes of restarting dialogue with Pyongyang. That ship has apparently now sailed, understandably enough.

Launch Update: Just across the wires a few minutes ago. Yonhap reports that the two short-range missiles (not yet positively identified) were launched off of the east coast of North Korea — not the west coast as intelligence officials had believed.

Somehow all the talk of how Kim is a crackpot eccentric, while Obama is portrayed as all-knowing and wise doesn’t quite square with reality when the “crackpot” is running circles around our flawless messiah.
    -
This is the same Obama that was apparently busy with his puppy-vetting process or playing basketball while the Russians where nabbing our Afghan supply air-base in Kyrgizstan.
    -
Obama is endangering our national security, a failure of his most primary duty as president… maybe we should draw a line here?
    -
Obamania’s sheeple are deeply delusional, and as the misguided Obama’s enablers, these fools are going to get us killed.
