A couple of years ago it was shown that a Mini was safer than a Ford f150 (at the time the Us’ most popular vehicle) in a head on collision with a wall. And it’s not just crashing where the small car is as safe or safer than the big waste of space. They handle better, stop better and are less likely to be driven by selfish, self righteous fools who expect everyone else to get out of their way.

I won’t need to worry about $14K *OR* $21K after 7 years…. 6 months after being forced to drive a clown-mobile, some dink who cannot read and/or follow the speed limit signs will make sure I’m DRT: Dead Right There. Then you and your Dummycrap buddies can sit around wondering why YOUR insurance has gone up, with people being killed left and right.

Of course, you don’t really give a rat’s hind end about the HUMAN losses in this venture to save a few bucks, do you, “Farmer” Tom? (Is that supposed to be like Farmer Ted?) After all, it’s probably just a few less conservatives who are stupid enough to keep working to support the half of society that contributes NOTHING to their own welfare….

Scary right? No greater nation for our freedoms? What freedoms? To waste money on things we don’t need? To drive cars that destroy the enviroment? To eat food and drink water that is poison? Yes I hope President Obama does take away those “freedoms”.

Nevermind the issue of global warming which so many of you wingnuts don’t even understand. Let’s focus on something you can understand: imported oil. If this country runs more efficiently, then we need less oil– this will, through the magic of something complicated which we call “economics” make the cost of oil fall. Maybe a new car will cost $1300 more to buy. *Buying* a car is the least of the cost, *running* a car costs big bux. Remember last summer? Gas at $4/gallon? A typical Detroit pig doesn’t even manage 20mpg, but let’s say you had a smaller car, or one with a smaller engine, and actually got 20mpg. To drive 15,000 miles/year at 20mpg with gas at $4/gallon would cost $3000 just in fuel. Dump the old car and get one that gets 30mpg and annual fuel costs drop to $2000/year. Drive the first car for seven years and you’ve ponied up $21K. Seven years of the more efficient ride would cost $14K. Subtract the $1300 difference and you’ve saved $12,700. If lightning struck and the cost of gas stayed at $2 (no such luck, it’s already more than $2 most places) the costs would be $1500 vs $1000, so in seven years the savings would be $3500– take away the $1300 and you’ve got $2200– the equivalent of driving two years for free.
In other words, the plan will either save money by keeping fuel costs down and getting more mpg, or else even in the face of rising fuel prices the average person will save nearly enough over the life of a car to buy a new one.
Oh, and where’s the ACLU in all this?

You folks on the left spent 8 years complaining that Bush was violating our rights, yet now that Obama is actually taking away our freedoms left and right, you folks are quiet. Why is that?
