They are aircraft mechanic jobs at various installations of the Air Force and Navy. I have a background that is directly applicable to those positions. I am also a thirty percent, service connected, disabled veteran. The jobs I applied for are open to status candidates, my status is the thirty percent. I have been laid off three times from the aircraft industry since 2002. I am 54 years old and I don't want to play the game anymore. so, if I can get a job with DOD, all the better. But take note, I have been trying to do this for about 3 years. It isn't easy but I keep trying. The jobs I am seeking are continually open or opened on a regular basis. That means I have been trying since before obammy got elected. I am looking for some stability. That's all. I have applied for a government job, several of them, actually.
