With ethanol plants that have already been in production closing and entering bankruptcy, it seems a little bit wasteful to be spending money on a fuel source that has proven that it cannot be sustained and it drives up food prices.

There is an ethanol plant in Lima, OH that was opened with great fanfare a couple of years ago. Now it sits idle and the owners are in bankruptcy. And this is the corn belt. Good money after bad if you ask me.

I've linked to your post from Discerning Science • Ethanol • Politics ... I am wondering if we are indeed seeing the end of Global Warming and a conversion of those Global Warming alarmists to deteriorating atmosphere alarmists.

So let me see if I can articulate the new environmental science: burning vegetable oil for transportation is bad, and leaving it alone for the sun to oxidize it (or burn it over time) is good. That does not work intellectually for me! I guess I just am not good at lies.

Maybe we can put the vegetable oil back in the ground? But vegetable uses water to get the hydrogen, WE WILL USE UP ALL THE WATER ON EARTH! OK stop laughing at me, Humanity is tiny compared to all the resources that exist on earth; but the environmentalist who have never left the city they were born in may believe it.
