A Real Life Conversation From Today
I had a 25 year old today actually say, “You’ve got to admit, Obama has been an awesome president so far! For a Democrat, he isn’t liberal at all. He is about as middle of the road as anyone could expect. I think he’s been doing a great job!”. I couldn’t help but laugh. Then I said, well…you’ll just have to wait and see what the consequences of all the bailouts and spending orgy will be.” I was interrupted with, “Oh, like Bush didn’t spend….” I said, ” I didn’t like all Bush spent either, but did you know that Obama has spent more in his first 100 days than Bush did in his entire last term?” I got silence on that one for a minute, then he replied, ” But what put us in this deficit? Who caused the recession.” I went off! “Everyone! It’s both partys’ fault. We could start with the housing bubble that popped. How about banks loaning money to people with crappy credit that couldn’t afford to pay the loan back, but banks couldn’t discriminate because of rules set in place by Jimmy Carter and reinforced by Clinton…and that neither Bush did anything to change? Then we could go after the skyrocketing gas prices caused by both parties. The Democrats won’t let us drill off shore because of the dolphins, and in Alaska because of the Caribou. They also won’t let us tap the reserves. It’s both parties! It made me sick watching Bush hold hands with the Saudi king just as much as it makes me sick to see Obama bowing to him.” He tried to throw in one last jab on the Alaska caribou comment, saying that I don’t care about the environment and the future of our children. I said, “F” the caribou!” Of course that was out of anger. I really do love caribou. Subjects changed quickly after this conversation.

Well Jay, I’m glad you spoke out. We conservatives have a lot to say on our blogs, but we often avoid the conflict when we are with liberals that we like and care about.
If there’s a next time, remind him about Barney Frank and Frank Dodd:-)
I have lefties all around me . I do not engage with them at this point. I want to wait until the bamafest is older then I will watch them squirm as their taxes go up.
I like to think of the pain on their faces when they realize their children in 20 years will ahve a $113,000 tax bill to pay off from their first jobs.
They will know what a Third World country is first hand.
Will they burn history or text books that have the bama in them?
Probably.
Ah revenge is bitter tasting, acrid stuff.
