Because The Federal Government Has Nothing Better To Do

And because they do not interfere in our lives enough
U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez is proposing a federal grant program to research and educate children about Internet safety, according to an Associated Press report.
Menedez, D-N.J., said he is hopeful that educating teenagers, teachers and parents will stop children from sending explicit photos of themselves over cell phones and the Internet.
The grant proposal would authorize $25 million to $35 million each year for Internet safety programs. The grants would be awarded on a two-year basis and administered by the Department of Justice.
You know, there are people who typically would educate their children on these dangers. They are called parents. And religious leaders would often help, but, since the hard left is doing their damned best to do away with the Jewish and Christian religions here in the US (Islam and Global Warming are OK with them), makes it kind of tough to instill moral values in young folks.
Granted, the issues are serious, but, some little idiot texting his or her nude photo and it ending up on the phone of every kid in school is one heck of a learning experience.

…and after they have been instructed on the proper use of the internet they would each receive a free sample of the Morning After Pill; yea this is good use of tax payer money.
When I taught school for 35 years I made sure the teens used tech like the word processor or PC to do research and write essays on great Americans from Martin Luther King etc.
Today I would send them to research Governor Sarah Palin and ask them to find out why she set up a legal defense fund.
