Larry Summers Snoozes During Meeting With Credit Card Execs

Will anyone at Think Progess comment that he should sleep forever or be shot in the face? Summers Caught a-Snoozin’

Americans may be struggling to pay their credit card debt. But for Larry Summers, President Obama’s chief economic adviser, the issue is apparently a snooze.

Mr. Summers was caught dozing in a Roosevelt Room meeting this afternoon as Mr. Obama addressed credit card industry officials, according to a White House pool report.

Mr. Summers “appeared to be nodding off near the beginning’’ of Mr. Obama’s remarks, the report said. It went on “And then he DID nod off, doing the head on the hand and then head falling off the hand thing.’’

Nice to know those in the Obama administration are as engaged as Obama is.

How the heck did anyone at the Times approve publishing the story? Might it be because many on the far left do not like Summers, as some of the folks at Think Progress (first link) make apparent?

  • Summers fell asleep….GOOD! nothing can go wrong for 15 minutes!! Common Obama, we need yonge blood making our way to the future.

    Hard to blame the guy, he knows as well as anybody that Obama’s ponitifications on the economy aren’t worth listening to for more than entertainment value… like hearing a child explain how a rocket works.
