Beauty queens must not voice conservative opinions

We read:
“Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton was crowned Miss USA on Sunday, but the big story to come out of the normally politics-free telecast was Miss California’s comments regarding gay marriage. When asked by judge Perez Hilton, an openly gay gossip blogger, whether she believed in gay marriage, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, said “We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”
Keith Lewis, who runs the Miss California competition, tells FOXNews.com that he was “saddened” by Prejean’s statement. “As co-director of the Miss California USA, I am personally saddened and hurt that Miss California believes marriage rights belong only to a man and a woman,” said Lewis in a statement. “I believe all religions should be able to ordain what unions they see fit. I do not believe our government should be able to discriminate against anyone and religious beliefs have no politics in the Miss California family.”
A follow-up report:
“Miss California is not backing down from the answer regarding gay marriage she gave on Sunday night’s Miss USA telecast. Carrie Prejean told FOXNews.com that she had “no regrets” and was happy with the answer she gave when a Miss USA judge, the gossip blogger Perez Hilton, asked about her stance on same-sex marriage…..
Blogger Perez Hilton was also enraged, calling Prejean a “stuipd b***h” in a video tirade he aired on his blog.
But the backlash is having little affect on Prejean, 21, she says. “I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I stated an opinion that was true to myself, and that’s all I can do,” she told Billy Bush, who hosted Miss USA, on his radio talk show on Monday.
“It did cost me my crown,” Prejean continued. “It is a very touchy subject and [Hilton] is a homosexual, and I see where he was coming from and I see the audience would’ve wanted me to be more politically correct. But I was raised in a way that you can never compromise your beliefs and your opinions for anything.” “I feel like I won,” she said. “I feel like I’m the winner. I really do.”
Her answer was very polite and given as her own view only but the Leftist media demand total submission to their agenda. But most of America will agree that she really is the winner.

Why the hell would a radical homosexual judge be allowed to ask a controversial political question like this on what’s suppose to be an unbiased pageant.
Just more Brown Shirt tactics by the communist left and homosexual mafia, they will break and destroy anybody that disagrees with their ideology and philosophies.
These are your enemies people! Wake Up!
WE HAVE TO WAKE UP!!! WE HAVE TO STOP THESE IMMORAL PEOPLE LIKE PEREZ AND COMPANY.
THE PERSON THAT HIRED PEREZ SHOULD BE FIRED. KEITH LEWIS SHOULD BE FIRED! WHAT A DISGUSTING SHOW. SHOWS YOU, WHEN HOMOSEXUALS GET INVOLVED, CRAP HAPPENS!
pEREZ hILTON IS A LIAR, THERE WERE ONLY CHEERS FOR MISS CALIFORNIA, NOT ONE BOO.
JUST SHOWS YOU HOMOSEXUALS ARE LIARS.
(1 Corinthians 6:9-10) “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.”
I find it ironic an idiot like Perez Hilton (who the hell is he anyway on the world scene, of importance?) asks a politically- and religiously-charged question of a contestent, with the purpose to ‘judge’ this woman or any other, and if she gives the “wrong answer” according to him or some other special interest, she’s lambasted publically.
I think the Miss USA pageant, and any others, should re-evaluate their objectives and questions, as well as their paid sponsors and needed audience of people watching, to see if allowing each and every woman to answer their questions however she sees fit or believes jives with those objectives. I would be ashamed and embarrassed as an organizer of this event, and especially a sponsor who put their name on it.
PREJEAN DID AN EXCELLENT JOB IN ANSWERING THE HOMOSEXUAL QUESTION.
I APPLAUD HER, THE STATES APPLAUD HER, AND AMERICA APPLAUDS HER.
THANK YOU , MS PREJEAN
CARRIE PREJEAN IS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT.
Actually this is a religious question also and she was punished for her religious beliefs. She should sue the pageant on the grounds of religious discrimination. Whether you are for or against redefining marriage – you should not be discriminated against for your beliefs, nor ridiculed and called vile names. Miss USA was judged by a bottom of the barrel vile person whose whole “career” is built on critizing and gossiping about others. How could they select such a person of low character to be a judge to begin with?
Absolute disgust and shock that a young woman cannot truthfully speak her mind when asked a specific question.
Mr Trump, had you asked her this question, and had she lied to you, what would you have said?
Let me guess, “Carrie, You’re Fired!”
Hmmm, can’t we just ship “Perez Hilton” (actual name: Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr.) back to Cuba, the land of his ancestors? Obama is getting chummy with the Castro Brothers, so maybe he’ll do us all a favor and “make the call.”
I thought the idea of the question segment, was to see how the contestants reacted under pressure, and not a test of the contestant’s morals, or lack of morals, as in this case! And what about Miss North Carolina’s view on gay marriage? We don’t know what she would have said, and it very well could have been the same! I’m from North Carolina, and I’m happy Miss North Carolina won. This has brought her “win,” into question, and that is so unfair!
I really don’t care what 2 consenting adults do behind closed doors, but I am so sick of gays and lesbians forcing their views on me and my family. Just go do whatever it is you do, and leave me the hell alone! Who knew one judge could decide the next Miss USA ? I’ll never watch another pageant, I’ll never watch another Apprentice, and I’ll never look at Donald Trump in the same way! I would tell Perez to kiss my big fat [edited], but I don’t want that sleazy creep anywhere near my private parts!
There was politics brought into the pagent but it was brought in by the judge not the contestant.
“I believe all religions should be able to ordain what unions they see fit. I do not believe our government should be able to discriminate against anyone and religious beliefs have no politics in the Miss California family.”
EXACTLY! All religions should be alowed to sanction what unions that they see fit. And the Roman Catholic Religion and most other Christian religions DO NOT see fit to sanction such unions. And the government nor anyone else should be allowed to FORCE us to do otherwise.
And as mentioned here by others, the contestant did not bring politics into this forum, it was the homosexual judge who is in the wrong here for using the Miss USA pageant as his soapbox to try and advance the homosexual agenda.
I applaud Miss Carrie Prejean for standing true to her religious beliefs, even when she knew that it would most certainly cost her the crown.
And I completely agree with the comments made by Sandy on April 21st, 2009 1:33 pm.
What they do behind closed doors with a consenting adult is their business, I just wish they would not try to force it into my business. Or my religion.
I sent this email to them:
“As a conservative, pro-family citizen of the USA , I am personally saddened and hurt that Keith Lewis believes that he has the right to dictate the personal opinions of Miss California USA contestants,” said this conservative, pro-family citizen in a statement. “I believe all Miss California USA contestants should be able to have their own opinions on political matters. I do not believe ignorant fools such as Keith Lewis from insipidly silly beauty pageants should be able to display their intolerant beliefs against anyone and ridiculous religious questions from fanatical militant homosexuals have no politics [sic] in the United States of America .”
I don’t watch that crap anyway, but now I’ll NEVER watch it! I can’t stand Perez Hilton. He is a waste of time. I APPLAUD Ms. California for being honest and standing her ground.
I’m off to write the pageant.
I commend Miss California for her courage to voice her opinion on gay marriage. It comes to no supprise as to the reaction of Perez Hilton due to his bias position. It also, comes to no suprise of his anger and verbal assault of Miss California. Therefore the conclusion is obvious as to who is the better person and has the better position on the question asked. The proof is in the character.
It’s so funny; we are preached that we must be “tollerant”. The left barks this non-stop, but only if it’s in aggreement with their views. Perez is a Hypocrite.
The US government apparently agrees with the beauty. There is a Resolution in the works to change the definition of marriage in the Constitution.

So in other words she should just stfu and accept homos as her better
The contestant had every right to say what she believed. Homosexuality is a sin. By definition, marriage is only between one man and one woman. It matters not what a federal judge dictates, God’s law is final and unchangable. If this poor excuse for a pageant had happened when I was a kid the public outcry on the contestants behalf would have been so strong that executive heads would have rolled instantly with the Miss America group…starting with Keith Lewis. There is no excuse for bigotry toward Christians and their beliefs. I am a Christian and I am fed up with it. Perez owes that young girl an apology and as a member of the media and my own voice over company, I will not cease to insist that he make right a horrible injustice.
Perez Hilton makes a living off of destroying other people. He’s a social parasite. For him, maligning Miss California is simply business as usual.
This is a question that should never have been asked in a miss america pangent. It is almost like asking if you have stopped beating your wife. It is too conterversial and no matter what the answer will alienate some part of the population. I am very disappointed in the pagent organizer to let such a question to be asked.
Carrie Prejean deserves to have her crown. She is beauiful and is also entitled to her own opinion about gays. :
