Columbus Day Gone At Brown U.
Liberalism, political correctness, and stupidity on the march
Brown University is taking the “Columbus Day” out of Columbus Day weekend.
The Ivy League school’s faculty voted Tuesday to establish a new academic holiday in October called “Fall Weekend.” The long weekend coincides with Columbus Day.
Hundreds of Brown students had asked the Providence school to stop observing Columbus Day, citing the explorer’s violent treatment of Native Americans. Reiko Koyama, a sophomore, says celebrating Columbus Day seemed inconsistent with Brown’s values
Kinda like with Christmas: they want the holiday to go away, but they still want the day off. Preferably paid.

Brown has values in the same sense that a pimp does.
Another moronic philosophy from our unintelligent communist campuses!
Columbus Day is Columbus Day is etc.
There is nothing wrong with teaching how he treated the natives. It does not change Columbus Day celebrations. No one need celebrate small pox.
Again…get a grip.
Columbus day is ridiculous. I could care less if we got rid of it.
I think Columbus Day is so stupid. The entire nation should get rid of it.
I’d much rather have September 11th be a national holiday.
But, if we get rid of it, you can’t take the day off, michelle!
I wholeheartedly agree with making Sept 11 a holiday, Alex. But, you know the bed wetting liberals will never allow that. Wouldn’t want to offend Muslim terrorists.
