Obama Considers Climate Engineering
As the Hot Air headline says, what could possibly go wrong?
The president’s new science adviser said Wednesday that global warming is so dire, the Obama administration is discussing radical technologies to cool Earth’s air.
John Holdren told The Associated Press in his first interview since being confirmed last month that the idea of geoengineering the climate is being discussed. One such extreme option includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun’s rays. Holdren said such an experimental measure would only be used as a last resort.
“It’s got to be looked at,” he said. “We don’t have the luxury of taking any approach off the table.”
Um, why do I get this visual of young boys, frogs, and firecrackers? Or, for you Southerners, what happens immediately following the phrase “hey, y’all, watch this”?
Of course, to use the AGW Believers phrase, “why should we listen to Holdren? He doesn’t have a degree in climatology.”

Don’t you remember the 70s, when the next ice age was all the rage, pushed by the very same people. BAck then the plan was to spread carbon black over the poles and Greenland to stave off the ’sure to be coming ice age’. Now it looks pretty stupid. About as stupid as this sounds.
Didn’t we just clear the air of the sun blocking particulates? And how come we are now worried about the sun heating things up? Everybody knows the sun has gone quiet after deciding to end it’s run of the modern maxima in 2003.
