The Obama administration will call for increased oversight of executive pay at all banks, Wall Street firms and possibly other companies as part of a sweeping plan to overhaul financial regulation, government officials said.
Let me consult my handy dandy copy of Contemporary Political Ideologies. Three Cores, the Political, the Moral, and the Economic. Democratic Socialism involves government interference and control of some parts of the economy. So, we can now safely call Obama a……socialist. Of course, that is the base definition, there is much more to Democratic Socialism as it evolved, such as advocating “the abolition of proper and of the free enterprise system.” Interesting, following that line, which is highlighted in my copy of the book (from my college days,) the next sentence reads
Socialism was declared, however, to be an advanced for of individualism: “Socialism is meerely individualism rationalised, organised, clother, and in its right mind.”
Yes, because all on the far left are just so individual.
Now, just to wrap up what could a become very, very long post, the Grey Lady tells us how the Obamateur admin will push for more and more regulations on the financial institutions, more oversight, and over-hauling the rules that got us into this recession. Want to be that the Community Reinvestment Act is left completely alone? Anyhow,
The administration has been considering increased oversight of executive pay for some time, but the issue was heightened in recent days as public fury over bonuses spilled into the regulatory effort.
A public furor which was whipped up by mostly Democrats, making sure the anger was aimed at AIG, rather then the people who crafted the legislation, forced a quick vote before anyone could actually read the Porkulus Bill, and then apparently knew about the provision allowing the bonuses well before they said they did. And do not think executives in other areas aren’t watching this creeping socialism/progressivism/fascism. They know that Dear Leader could be coming after them next.

As far as Der Fuhrer’s administration taking over running the banks, just look at the outstanding job the government has done running the postal service.
All of a sudden my mattress is looking better and better. Assuming Der Fuhrer let’s me keep enough money to hide.
