John Conyers To Go After ACORN, Make Nutroots Public Enemy List

Posted on March 21, 2009

Whoa! It was a very big shock to see this headline: Conyers suggests probe of ACORN

In an startling partisan shift, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. on Thursday proposed holding hearings on claims the liberal activist group ACORN engaged in a pattern of crimes ranging from voter fraud to a mob-style “protection” racket.

Mr. Conyers, Michigan Democrat and fierce partisan, suggested a congressional probe after scathing testimony about the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) during a hearing on various voting issues related to the 2008 presidential election.

Mr. Conyers called the accusations “a pretty serious matter.”

“I think that it would be something that would be worth our time,” he said during Thursday’s hearing. “We’ve never had one person representing ACORN before the committee. … I think in all fairness we ought to really examine it.”

As one would imagine, this story is ONLY in the Washington Times. Have checked all the usual newspapers, checked Google and Yahoo News, no one else in the Credentialed Media is even mentioning it. Expect the nutroots to give Conyers the Bush treatment if they get wind of this.

The big question is, will he actually convene hearings? They could be very embarrassing to Democrats, the base, and President Teleprompter.

The American Spectator is also discussing this, and has some painful video of an exchange between Megyn Kelly and ACORN tool Scott Levenson.

I tend to think that Conyers is merely moving himself to the front of the “relevance line.” His rhetoric will catch the attention of the White House. He’ll be pulled over there for a nice personal meeting…and the all important question will be asked.

“Sooooo…Congressman Conyers…what’s it gonna take to get you back doing the people’s work…instead of poking ACORN with a stick?…I’m listenting.”

Conyer’s looking into ACORN will be shut down. That will be too close for comfort for Der Fuhrer and that can’t be allowed.

He’s “suggesting” a probe. But are we kidding? There won’t be a probe. Worm is correct: a stunt to get Conyers some attention from Obama. I’m sure he knew in advance the MSM wouldn’t cover the story, but that the coverage he did get would be enough to do the job.

Jesse Jackson was the trailblazer on the “muscle for money” coercion/extorsion scam when he conned Toyota into about a $70 million payoff to keep a discrimination suit from proceeding in southern Illinois. That kept the MSM cameras from recording a bunch of riff-raff parading in Peoria or whereever.

ACORN is a complete RICO case which used to be called “racketeering,” but is now being run out of Rahm-bo’s office next to Obama’s Oval crime cockpit.

Watch for more money for Acorn that will be attached to a Senate Bill. The bill will be some kind of money for local area action groups or neighborhood groups.

I want to know why REPUBLICANS aren’t demanding an inquiry into ACORN.

This crap has got to be stopped before they commit even more crimes on behalf of the Democrats.

If Steele ,had a”Steel Spine”,he would be calling his support for Conyers. However, the big picture with Conyers,is the Bush war and dometic crimes nonsense. This is just smoke and mirrors for Republicans.

I love to hear the Conyers speak. Good times.
Monica Crowley, on her radio show does an excellent immitation of his speaking patterns. Listen to her she treats him like a fond pet.
It is healthy to laugh at him.
