I think that Langer is wrong about what he’s saying. The section he is referring to says that after the card-check procedure is finished, the NLRB cannot then call for an additional vote. But, the workers in the plant can still call for either card-check OR the secret ballot.

And also, there is a lot of intimidation by the employers. Anti-union training is a multi billion dollar business, and people get canned for even hinting about organization.

I don’t understand what the big deal about this bill is… certainly it doesn’t warrant thi skinf of fear-mongering and lying.

So, Sal the union goon has intimidated you into signing the card for the union, now you’re going to tell Sal that he can’t keep you from having an election? Sal was kind enough to not break your arm so now you think he won’t mind if you spit in his face? I think sweet potato doesn’t understand the stakes.

The union is who ultimately decides when to have the election.

They will do the card checks first, keep pressure on until they get a comfortable margin of victory. If they don’t have the margin this month that means they need to press harder for next month. Don’t ask me to define what press means, it is the job of the foreman to get his people on the team.
