President Neophyte: Wounded Vets Should Pay For Care
Remember a few years back, when Democrats threw a fit over Bush’s supposed ideas on health care for veterans in 2004? This from the Democratic Policy Committe: Bush to Veterans: Pay More, Wait Longer, Receive Less Health Care. Notice this is .gov domain.
Then they had hissy fits over increased co-pays for veterans and other military folks not on active duty, including for injuries sustained when not on duty, such as hurting yourself putting together a backyard swing set, and the media was happy to write stories that made Bush look bad.
Now, though: Senators slam plan for wounded vets to use private insurance
Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance. …
No official proposal to create such a program has been announced publicly, but veterans groups wrote a pre-emptive letter last week to President Obama voicing their opposition to the idea after hearing the plan was under consideration.
The article points out that no final decision is being made, but, just the point that the Obama amateur hour would even consider this shows where their heads are and what they think of the military. On the bright side, as the article points out, there is at least one Senate Democrat who thinks Obambi has lost his mind.
H/T Hot Air.

Say what you will about McCain, but we all know he wouldn’t have pulled crap like this.

Obama had a mind to start with? Fooled me.
I am a disabled vet and believe me, they have been charging my private insurance for years every time I get treatment that is supposed to be free. I have even tried removing my personal insurance information from my VA records, but they still send the charges in and my private insurance pays up- every time. Then, when my private insurance realized I was a disabled vet, they sent me a bill for what they had paid to the VA!
I told them to go screw themselves, of course and also told them they did not have to pay the VA since I am supposed to get this care for free. After all, why drive 2.5 hours for care thast sucks if I have to pay for it?
I am steaming, Obama is nothing shy of the devil for thinking that America should take away from those that gave him what he has today, Freedom( oh yeah, his job.)
You would think that here in America we could definitely treat our veterans a little better though, or at least as well as the people who mistakenly bought a house with 3-400 square feet more than they could afford. . .
It’s clearly wrong. If you were wounded, the government has a duty to pay the health care. If they don’t want to pay for wounded vets, then don’t send them into battle. How about using all the bailout money for wounded vets, instead of paying for bonuses for people who continue to beg the government for bailouts.
