Obama Still Partying While Nation Burns

Since the presidency changed hands less than six weeks ago, a burst of entertaining has taken hold of the iconic, white-columned home of America’s head of state. Much of it comes on Wednesdays.
The stately East Room, where portraits of George and Martha Washington adorn the walls, was transformed into a concert hall as President Barack Obama presented Stevie Wonder with the nation’s highest award for pop music on Wednesday.
A week before that, the foot-stomping sounds of Sweet Honey in the Rock, a female a cappella group, filled the East Room for a Black History Month program first lady Michelle Obama held for nearly 200 sixth- and seventh-graders from around the city.
Cocktails were sipped during at least three such receptions to date, all held on Wednesdays.
Bookending the midweek activity were a Super Bowl party for select Democratic and Republican lawmakers and a dinner for governors, the new administration’s first black-tie affair. It was capped with a performance by the 1970s pop group Earth, Wind and Fire. And a conga line.
The flurry of entertaining is in keeping with the Obamas’ promise to make the White House a more open place for everyone.
So, while everyone else is cutting back, learning to live with this recession that Obama and the Democrats now own solely (except for 3 squishy Senate Republicans,) Obama is partying it up, and, as Gay Patriot points out
President Obama, cheered on by his minions in the press, has been railing against corporate excess since before he even took office. These rich folk, he’d have us believe, are living high on the hog, gilding the lily at our expense. Well, guess whose salary, room-and-board, and all entertainment expenses literally are at our expense, and guess how he’s been living.
Why is Obama starting to remind me of the Communist dictators who lived high on the hog while their nations imploded?

Commenting twice in the same day, my goodness I must be out of work…
I heard a fellow on one of the talks shows last week, pardon my not knowing his name or even which talk show it was… anyway, he explained that Obama really didn;t care about the economy going in the toilet and coming back out as long as the agenda to turn America into a pure socialist society was brought about. At the time it sounded like something of a “conspiracy theory” off the wall comment by a Kook Fringe whacko; however, the more he talked the more sense it made.
I hope to be proven wrong on this, really.
I just saw the Houston Ballet presentation of Marie Antoinnette’s life and enjoyed reading the recap of her time in France. Interesting parallels there . . . clueless young rulers partied away and had no idea how to govern.

Well, to be fair to most of the communists, they at least made a pretense of identifying with the hoi polloi. In Obama’s case, he has more in common with Robert Mugabe than Nikita Krushchev.
BHo is a loser who doesnt understand the United States of America and why it was founded. Freedom isnt free and it isnt conserved through taxation.
The buncha dead white guys knew some things about the human spirit. And out of that created a nation that has scratched and clawed its way through over 200 years of foreign and domestic treachery.
We will survive this human pimple on the butt cheek of progress. And his nasty little dog too.

What is really rich is the 1984-esque spin on all of these parties, that he is opening the People’s House to the people again.
So does that mean I am on the guest list? Can I drop by anytime? I’ll be right over, then….
Naaaah, he just has to blow off some steam and party with all the right people to pay them back for all they have done for him and grease the right gears.
Funny that the frugality and sobriety of the Bushes, at least on George’s part is now
considered to have been closing off the White House from the usual suspects, erm I mean, the people of the United States while the expensive partying of the Obama’s entertaining their influential friends, is supposed to be restoring it to the American people.
Give me an f-ing break!

wondering if the President and First Lady have cut back? They need to.. to set an example. To those who have lost and had to file bankruptsy and lost their home.. and can not buy stocks (as he says now is a great time to buy)what do they do.How do they start over. Low paying jobs( if any available.) after living from a 6 figure income to nothing.. sure does give a person a diff. way of life.. HE should try it.
