Surrender Monkey Friday: Race Baiters Force An Apology

Of course, we all know the (contrived) controversy over the NY Post stimulus cartoon, which sent libs and the typical race baiters into apoplexy. Sharpton, as usual, had a freak out

Hundreds of demonstrators rallied to boycott the New York Post on Thursday, branding the newspaper as racist for publishing a cartoon that appeared to compare President Barack Obama to a chimpanzee.

Demonstrators led by civil rights activist Al Sharpton chanted “End racism now!” outside the parent company’s skyscraper in midtown Manhattan and called for the jailing of Rupert Murdoch, whose international media conglomerate News Corp owns the Post.

Now, if Sharpton was really concerned with ending racism now, he would call for the dissolution of groups such as the Black Panthers, the NAACP, and the Congressional Black Caucus, groups which are based solely on race. But, we all know the liberal mantra: “do as I say, not as I do.” But, the NY Post, as a wise business does, offered a slight apology

Wednesday’s Page Six cartoon – caricaturing Monday’s police shooting of a chimpanzee in Connecticut – has created considerable controversy.

It shows two police officers standing over the chimp’s body: “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill,” one officer says.

It was meant to mock an ineptly written federal stimulus bill.

Period.

But it has been taken as something else – as a depiction of President Obama, as a thinly veiled expression of racism.

This most certainly was not its intent; to those who were offended by the image, we apologize.

But…

However, there are some in the media and in public life who have had differences with The Post in the past – and they see the incident as an opportunity for payback.

To them, no apology is due.

Sometimes a cartoon is just a cartoon – even as the opportunists seek to make it something else.

However, does anyone think that will stop the race baiters? Doubtful. Because we are a “nation of cowards,” and there just aren’t enough brave souls to tell it like it is. Or, maybe there are

Oops. Can I say “went ape” anymore? How about “going bananas?” Shall I refrain from asking the race demagogues to quit “monkeying around?” Do I erase “It’s a jungle out there” and “It’s a zoo” from my lexicon? How about “beastly?”

Expect Michelle Malkin to continue telling it like it is, and throwing the PC back in the faces of opportunists like Sharpton. I wonder if I am allowed to continue asking the Surrender Monkey to do his weekly Friday show? Is it racist?

“quit monkeying around” i remember a short while ago here in Chicago there was a lady in one of the burbs who caught a bunch of neighborhood kids (white and black) climbing in her trees. She said “Quit acting like monkeys (ie climbing and swinging in the tree) and go home”. Naturally , the black parents were outraged and proceeded to get her fired from whatever goverment board she was on. the incident happened at her house not at work, not in an official capacity but as usual, the left (including our own Jesse Jackson) called for her to resign and she was forced to do so.
why do liberals always think someone needs to be fired from their jobs???? The lady in question got railroaded and i can’t remember if she sued the board or not.

I am a white Christian woman who was also offended by the so called “cartoon”. To use such a tragedy as this incident to make a political point is reprehensible. One poor woman is in the hospital fighting for her life. The animal is dead. The owner heartbroken and probably will grieve the rest of her life, not to mention the family of the critically injured woman. To me, it was repulsive and downright sickening. What kind of mind could come up with this? I can think of at least 12 other ways the cartoonist could have made his point without being so disgusting.
And yes, I can see how people could see it as racist and hateful. The NY Post should make a real apology.

Maybe if the monkey’s owner wouldn’t have doped him up, he wouldn’t have attacked.

I am also a white Christian woman, and I caught the point of the cartoon immediately – and I saw no racial connotations whatsoever. There’s a reason political cartoons are considered SATIRE.

This is yet another “divide and conquer” tactic of the wing-nut left, intent on destroying this country by any means possible.
