Waaaahbulance Time In The Leftosphere Over Cartoon

I guess it is a day for Manufactured Hypocritical Outrage today in the Nutroots. First we had the freakout at Michelle M. over Obama-Hitler comparisons (snicker), now
A cartoon likening the author of the stimulus bill, perhaps President Barack Obama, with a rabid chimpanzee graced the pages of the New York Post on Wednesday.
The drawing, from famed cartoonist Sean Delonas, is rife with violent imagery and racial undertones. In it, two befuddled-looking police officers holding guns look over the dead and bleeding chimpanzee that attacked a woman in Stamford, Connecticut.
Yeah, Ok, uh-huh, sure thing, sparky. Should I perhaps post up a few of those wonderful cartoons by Pat Oliphant and Ted Rall, you know, the ones demeaning the troops, referring to Condi Rice as a house ni**er, or, some of those other lovely oneswishing death on Dubya? Not too mention the assassination chic, wishing the bomber had gotten Cheney in Afghanistan, wishing Laura Bush had lost her leg when she had a little growth removed, etc, and so on. You know the hit parade. But, hey, let’s not forget the lovely “c” word shirtsunhinged Palin haters were selling. Hanging Palin for Halloween.
Lighten up, nutroots. It’s not always about you. Ever heard the parable about a million monkeys typing on a million typewriters? Or, maybe they just meant the bill was so bad that a monkey wrote it. But, don’t forget to get upset with Pandagon for the vaguely racist header graphic (hint: jungle next to Obama logo)

The left is proving once again that when it comes to political satire, criticism, and insults, they can dish ‘em out but they can’t take ‘em.
Clearly you are too ignorant to get it. Throw shoes at Obama, compare him to a goat or a birdbrain- that is clearly just your political preference or opinion of the stimulus bill. but a monkey? have you been living under a rock all your life? this is offensive to me and I’m white. Also, I don’t think the tragedy in Connecticut, (leaving a woman fighting for her life) is something to mock or make light of. This is just bad taste and incompentent management of national newspaper. i hope political extremists on both sides learn from this disgusting blunder. i am never going to pick up this paper.
@ Miss Salsa:
Please. Isn’t it just as likely to be any underevolved politico? If 1000 monkeys typed for 1000 years and they produced a work of Shakespeare, would it be a racial slur if the work they produced was Othello? I think that if you see racism in this cartoon it’s because you were looking for it.

Is shooting the poor chimp the best thing the NYPD could do? What are them tranquilizers and the tacers? I am sure the 911 call stated that, there was a chimp attack and here they came looking for AL-qaeda I guess. If you really want to do something that President Obama would do, then be a good and responsible citizen Click here
A large majority of us believe the porkulus bill is so stupid that a monkey could have written it…but, I think …well it could have been better written by a rock?
I thought cartoons were supposed to be funny. I thought that was one of the qualifying attributes of a cartoon. You know, “Oh look at this cartoon, hahahahahahaha etc”.
What kind of sick f*ck would look at this “cartoon” and think “Damn, that’s funny”!
Well, we all know the answer to that question, don’t we?
Don’t EVEN try to make this about left or right, lib or con, rep or dem. It’s stupid. Plain and simple. Bad taste, bad idea, bad management, bad cartoon. Right wing conservative repubs think it’s bad, left wing liberal dems think it’s bad, it’s just plain a bad cartoon and was published for one reason; to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
Success!
This test is, quite simply, like a Rorschach test, and anyone who finds it amusing would certainly be signifying their racism — if not to themselves, to every one else with an ounce of judgment.
My outrage isn’t manufactured. Neither is your utter lack of moral, cultural, or historical sensitivity. However, I would not pretend to expect insight or sensitivity from a web-sight dedicated to the destruction of the ACLU. God save your soul.
Forget the global warming fight. It was over a junk science scare anyway. Take on the new fight AGAINST DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM.
The bama socialist agenda from Stimulus on is in reality a Democratic Socialist’s dream.
People voted for the bama because he was black. I do not believe they voted for him because he was going to destroy our country by destroying capitalism and every good American tradition we had. We are not going to be singing INTERNATIONAL in place of our National Anthem.
Bread and Roses are not going to be worn on our lapels instead of the American Flag.
WATCH!
Excuse me, but the caption says “write” the next stimulus bill. Obama signed the bill. Pelosi wrote it, with input from other congresscritters during the legislation process. Since he had nothing to do with it’s writing, this is an insult to Obama only in the minds of those who wish to see it.
Miss Salsa, Nick, Simpson, T Gill, if you leave you liberalism behind for a moment and join us here in Reality Land, you might realize that it has nothing to do with Obama, since he wrote virtually none of the bill, and, like probably everyone in Congress, did not read it. He outsourced it to Nancy and Harry, who are the authors of a bill that is going to leave a monetary monkey on the back of every American for generations to come.
While the cartoon is in pretty bad taste, if one uses the powers of logic to decipher the message it is clear – CLEAR, I tell you – that the writer of the bubble text was referring to Congress (trained monkeys) and not to president Obama.
Learn to READ, people!
Only bad taste is drawing parallels between chimpanzee and incompetence of congress – and animals are smarter than those morons. As has been noted before, nothing in this cartoon had anything to do with Obama as he did not write the bill.
Also, left has already opened the floodgates between comparing president and chimpanzee during the Bush term, so closing that gate just because of Obama’s father’s origins would be racist. Now if republicans themselves choose not to make such comparisons (to date I have heard no such thing), they prove themselves vastly more mature than democrats. Time will tell.
It hurts when the same comparisons are coming their way. This is only the begging. They will have a few years yet to be outraged. The better get s bunch of tissue ready for their crock tears.
To all who defend this cartoon as “misunderstood”.
The message of a cartoon is wholly in how it is perceived, not in how it is intended.
The idea that anyone with even half a brain could look at this cartoon and honestly believe that those who published it didn’t know it would be racially, politically, and ideologically inflammatory, and then published it for purely sensationalistic purposes, is deluding themselves.
If everyone here would stop trying to make this some kind of con/lib war and take an honest look at the history of this country’s race relations over the last 50 years, even an idiot can see why this type of “journalistic” behavior is just stupid.
Frankly, I couldn’t give a sh*t how you classify yourself politically or ideologically. Intelligent people across the entire ideological spectrum can see this for what it is. Divisive bullsh*t.
Have not seen the NY Post pages, but according to a posting by an evangelical gentleman on the internet, next to the cartoon was a photo of Obama signing the act into law. I think it would be hard for readers not to connect the photo with the cartoon. Someone thought this was funny. I wonder if our policemen across the country think it was funny.
