John Conyers To Hold Basement Hearings On Sheriff Joe Arpaio
More federal government interference, more violations of the 10th Amendment. Maybe Conyers should investigate himself
House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) and three fellow Democrats want the Department of Justice to investigate civil rights complaints against controversial sheriff Joe Arpaio.
The lawmakers, in a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano sent Friday, are seeking a probe into reports Arpaio has used skin color as a basis to search for illegal immigrants in Arizona.
Exactly what skin color do illegals crossing the southern border tend to have, John? As the saying goes, isn’t this a distraction from the issues that are important to Americans, like, oh, let’s see, stopping illegal immigration?
- 89% of Americans think illegal immigration into the U.S. is a problem (30% “extremely serious,” 33% “very serious,” and 26% “somewhat serious.” (Time Magazine, Jan. 2006)
- 82% think that not enough is being done along the borders to keep illegal immigrants from crossing into the country. (New York Times/CBS May 2007)
- 68% feel that the number of immigrants who cross the border, whether legal or illegal is “too high”. (Polling Company, Sept. 2006)
CNN polls have typically found that 65% + people believe that the number of illegal immigrants should be decreased. And, since most coming across the southern border tend to have a certain look, well, yes, those are the people who should be targeted. It is called a profile of the perpetrator. Unfortunately, Napolitano tends to be pro-illegal, so, we’ll see where this goes. One thing you can expect, though, is that Sherriff Joe will neither back down nor stop enforcing that pesky law thing. He sure didn’t stop enforcing the law against dead-beat parents just because it was Valentine’s Day.

What else do you expect from one of our greatest shames – a republican who thinks he needs to submit legislation for an expensive committee to research the abomination of slavery the determine what sort of reparations should be paid (doesn’t hurt any if he’d get some himself, eh?)?

The majority of Americans want the laws enforced. Politicians, US Chamber of Commerce, and special interests do not want laws enforced. You know who the politicians are listening to and it is not the American citizen.
I urge all Sheriff Joe Arpaio supporters to blast John Conyers offices with complaints about this “investigation” aka witch hunt.

Is there a legal defense fund for Sheriff Joe? I’d like to contribute to help him fight yet another BOGUS lawsuit that only wastes taxpayer money.
I want a Sheriff Joe in EVERY COUNT IN AMERICA!!!!
I’m proud of what Sheriff Joe does. He’s got more balls than any other law enforcement officer in our country. When will the American people wake up and realize what has caused our financial crisis. Look at the trillions the illegals have cost our country. I support him 100% and wish I were young enough to be there to help back him up in what he’s doing. When will other law enforcement step up to the plate, catch them, call ICE and if they don’t show up to ship them out then they should pack a bus, truck/tractor/trailer and pack them tight and haul them across the border. I realize that Mexican’s are not our only problem, as the Middle Easterner’s are worse criminals than the Mexicans, At least the Mex’s work and send their money home to family, you’ll ever see a Middle Eastern working, unless it’s their own business they opened by laundering their criminal $ into opening, with a large part of the $$$ going overseas to terrorist groups that mean us harm.
