Pres. Obama taken, in a very Christian way, to the woodshed by John Piper
I don’t even need to write anything. It’s not long…just watch.
I know Obama likes to hold out “faith leaders” as prominent members of his entourage, but I don’t think he would have the backbone to sit down with John Piper and confront this issue man to man. Obama’s insane position on human life cannot survive contact with truth. He just can’t continue to claim he is a “committed Christian” and hold, with a seemingly unpanged conscience, the position that pre-born children can (and should) be killed at any time, by any method for any reason and for no reason at all, simply because a woman says her baby should be killed. Oh, and the taxpayer is expected to subsidize the slaughter! Some “choice.”
BTW, if you don’t know Piper, you should.

I’ve added that video to the side bar on Obama’s Agendas and gave you a hat tip for it.
I’m not familiar with John Piper. What he said to President Obama is true. However, how could Piper cry for joy when a man who voted for infanticide, Obama, was elected president? Piper should have been filled with sorrow. How could John Piper be surprised that Obama would support abortion – given Obama’s statements & record? If right to life is important to John Piper, he should have supported John McCain – which perhaps he did. Frankly, this is ridiculous.
Wow, S. Mulder, you certainly missed the point. This an absolute beat down and I’m not sure how you saw it any other way.
Piper is hardly “surprised” about Obama’s position on baby-killing. He was responding, on a national day dedicated to life, to Obama’s idiotic statement on the anniversary of Roe/Doe.
I also don’t think Piper was saying HE wept for joy, he seemed to be speaking as an American when he said “some of us.” The weeping on election and inauguration day is a lasting image despite the ridiculousness of it. Piper was simply calling up that image that every American witnessed.
Mr. Scott,
If John Piper was speaking out like this during the campaign – great. If this is the stand Piper took before the election – I commend him. If Mr. Piper supported John McCain, not Barack Obama – wonderful. I agree with everything Mr. Piper said -he said it very well. I certainly hope Mr. Piper was this vocal during the campaign.
I agree with all of the above writers. I have never heard of Mr. Piper, would some kind soul enlighten me? Even pro-lifers I know are having the beginnings of a change of heart due to the vitriole spewed by this demagogue in the oval office. I am getting bad vibes about him. He seems to get very angry when he doesn’t get his own way immediately. I am frightened for America. The most defenseless
are being butchered and tortured all in the name of convenience. Only God knows who they could have become. Please watch Obama carefully, his demeanor is menacing now.
I go to Piper’s church, and I can clear up the misunderstanding. He did weep for joy at Obama’s innauguration, but purely from a racial standpoint. He is thrilled that America has moved far enough from it’s history of oppressing blacks to where we could elect one. He mentions this near the end of this article http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/TasteAndSee/ByDate/2009/3520_The_President_the_Passengers_and_the_Patience_of_God/
He is and always has been 100% against abortion; the clip posted here is from his sermon the Sunday after the Roe v. Wade anniversary. As far as I know, he does not address politics from the pulpit, except when the issue is addressed in the Bible.
