Was Obama Reaching Out To Al Qaeda Pre-Election?

A big story in the Washington Times today, in which Powerline and Jammie Wearing Fool catch something disturbing
According to GeostrategyDirect.com, a newsletter published by The Washington Times’ ace national security reporter Bill Gertz, “Diplomatic sources said Barack Obama has engaged several Arab intermediaries to relay messages to and from al Qaeda in the months before his election as the 44th U.S. president.The sources said al Qaeda has offered what they termed a truce in exchange for a U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan. ‘For the last few months, Obama has been receiving and sending feelers to those close to al Qaeda on whether the group would end its terrorist campaign against the United States,’ a diplomatic source said. ‘Obama sees this as helpful to his plans to essentially withdraw from Afghanistan and Iraq during his first term in office.’”
What happened to Obama saying that there is only one president at a time? If this is true, Obama should be impeached for Logan Act violations, at the least, if not, as JWF writes, “removed from office and charged with treason.”
Of course, talking with AQ is probably the tactic that so many on the Left in the USA and around the world would probably prefer, especially since so many of them think 9/11 was payback for how mean the USA is, or, as Obama’s pastor Jeremiah Wright stated “America’s chickens coming home to roost.”
Maybe it is now patriotic to treat with hardcore enemies? Eh, forget that. And forget questioning their patriotism They have none. At least not for the USA.
Meanwhile, Al Qaeda is having a little problem with replacing leadership. Another word would be “decimated.” So, hey, good time to talk to AQ and surrender, eh Barack?

I also read just yesterday that he was in secret talks (also for several months) with Iran. I thought that was illegal.
It might be illegal but Hell will freeze over before Eric Holder investigates Obama for anything.
