The 'media-communications complex' heavilly funds the Democrats and uses their media leverage to promote their bought-and-paid-for candidates. This has implications for the new FCC's position on the white-space spectrum reallocation issue. The NAB and other media lobby groups were furious at the Bush FCC's decision re. whitespace and are counting on Obama's government to reverse it.
