ACLU Says No To Gitmo Detainees In Colorado
Aren’t you just thrilled that the ACLU assigns American rights to non-US citizens captured on the battlefields around the world fighting and wearing no uniforms?
Politicians in Colorado are split over the chance detainees from Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, could be imprisoned at the Supermaxfederal detention facility in Florence. Some say Supermax can handle Gitmo suspects just fine, others warn it’s too dangerous. But the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Colorado said in a statement to the Colorado Independent Friday afternoon that moving Gitmo detainees — including many only suspected of crimes — to the country’s most secure prison “is simply another form of torture, one which makes a mockery of ‘innocent until proven guilty.’ ”
While the Obama administration’s plans to shut down Gitmo earn the group’s applause, ACLU of Colorado executive director Cathryn Hazouri says the conditions at Supermax won’t be an improvement for terror suspects. Noting that several Gitmo detainees have been released after the Bush administration admitted it couldn’t prove guilt, Hazouri questions whether a move to the tiny cells at Supermax, where most inmates are kept in solitary confinement 23 hours a day, is fair treatment for suspects awaiting trial.
Get Hazouri a waaa-bulance! The full text of her press release is at the link, where she is whining about how downright mean it would be to put the little darling at ADX Florence. Say, Cathryn, do you have a, you know, better idea of where to put the little jihadis? I’m sure you have wanted Guantanamo closed for a long time, surely you have a better idea? Obama doesn’t have one. Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want Alcatraz reopened for them. No other Democrat except Jack Murtha is willing to take them in their state. So, what now?
As President Bush said during one of his debates with John “Poodle” Kerry, “a litany of complaints is not a plan.”

Politicians in Colorado are split over the chance

It’s pretty damn obvious that the only thing that would please this anti-American douche bag Cathryn Hazouri would be for us to simply release these sub-human monsters, preferable with millions of taxpayer dollars in their pockets (and of course, in the pockets of the insufferable ACLU)…
There are just no words. Well, a few four lettered ones, but I’ll refrain.
no place for the detainees, except, well, in Gitmo . . . duh.
I’ve got an idea. Let’s just put the detainees in a regular prison in Rep. Murtha’s district. All the “rednecks,” “racists” and “bitter-clingers” will give them a warm welcome. We’ll see how long they last in conditions like that.
If we don’t let the terrorists win, then the terrorists will have won.
Well, if it is so unfair, she can take them home with her. What? No, that won’t work?
Ok, then you can raise the money, buy an apartment block, and house them yourselves, in whatever conditions you see fit.
However, if they escape and kill anyone, you’re done. Got it?
That is all…
