It’s really a shame that I can’t put one of those emoticons where the guy slaps the top of his head or covers his eyes in the headline, because this website is perfect
TheWhoFarm – Read and sign the petition!
To President and Mrs. Obama:
We, the people, respectfully request that an organic farm be planted on the grounds of The White House, at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington, DC.
The White House Organic Farm (aka TheWhoFarm) will be a model for healthy, economical and sustainable living everywhere. It will serve as an educational tool and economic aid, and as a means to provide food security in the Nation’s Capitol. It will reconnect the Office of the Presidency to the self-sufficient agricultural roots of America’s Founding Fathers.

They then have five Articles on how this farm should be. Sigh. They are serious. They have spoken to the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal, among others. They even have a video, which is below the fold.

On the plus side; the fertilizer will be free and close at hand.
The comment that I left on their site, “Get shock treatments, y’all are ding-dong crazy.”
Their delusion starts with thinking this is a “democracy.”
I don’t really see a problem with the idea in and of itself, and as aptly pointed out, the fertilizer is free, abundant, and quick at hand. But seriously, can you see Michelle actually getting her hands DIRTY, helping to produce the food they will consume when it’s just so much easier to let us pay for it for them?
It seems like a neat idea. Lawns are dull, and should be broken up with interesting flora. What symbolic gesture would you have the President do to encourage greater self sufficiency amongst his countrymen?
I know what you mean about the facepalm. I often get that feeling when I visit here.
And Two Dogs, are you sure you didn’t just add your name to the petition? I wouldn’t be surprised.
