Just when you were starting to believe that Liberals were compassionate, mostly because they tell you this non-stop to brainwash you, well, not so much
CNN correspondent Soledad O’Brien wants this dog gone.
The newswoman and other members of a Chelsea co-op board are trying to evict a beloved family pet from a swanky loft building because they say the dog is smelly and slobbers.
O’Brien, in a 20-page affidavit, complained about the pooch’s “size, slobbering, shedding, drooling, gassiness and odors.”
“She told me at a shareholder’s meeting that my dog stinks,” said Steven Lyons, owner of Ugo, a good-natured, 150-pound mastiff.
If the dog was a French poodle, perhaps named John Kerry, probably wouldn’t be an issue.
O’Brien, the co-op board’s secretary, signed a notice on Jan. 5 that terminated the family’s lease, the first legal step before asking a Housing Court judge to remove the dog or the family from the building.
Lovely. O’Brien will soon be described as “brave” and “corageous” by the Liberal establishment, rather then a cold hearted wench who hate dogs.

Well, it’s true. Mastiffs are stupid, ugly, retarded animals, and poor excuses for dogs.
Maybe the board should remove soledad instead.
It is a shame that Alex has never known the gentleness of the Mastiff breed or watched them as Therapy dogs with small children of the elderly. Nor experienced their courageous demeanor when it comes to protecting their master or their master’s children. If this dog were a useless froo-froo lapdog, with no use other than keeping someone’s lap warm, no one would care. The Mastiff “is” indeed the gentle giant.

Well, it’s true. liberals are stupid, ugly, retarded animals, and poor excuses for humans.
I though liberals loved animals? Are you saying that a Lefty newswoman is more concerned abnout her own personal comfort than she is about an animal companion?
Swanky Chelsea loft? I would think a committed Communist like Obrien would live in Harlem, with her people. Sounds like hypocrisy to me. Next you’ll tell me she has a vacation home and goes skiing or plays golf! Heavens! How un-Democrat party of her! I hope she stands in line at the free clinic and refuses to go to a Park avenue doctor!
I’ve found that most people’s children are far less well-behaved than my own Mastiff, make more noise and are generally less pleasing to live around, but G-D forbid that I should complain to the Co-op’s ruling junta about them! I would be tarred and feathered, castigated in the newspapers and generally ridden out of town on the rails. My name would become synonymous with crumudgeon.
Yet, these people think nothing of wanting to remove a family because someone complains about the dog–a loyal family member? And when do these people smell this gas or are subjected to the shedding and drooling? If you don’t like the dog, don’t go near it–DUH!
I thought Liberals were suppose to be liberal and accepting.
Mastiffs are a wonderful loving and gentle breed. They smell better than the children that probably live in the Co-op with dirty diapers. And they potty outside.
And, before you guys go on believing I’m a Democrat, I’m not. I’m a red-blooded Republican….
But I still hate mastiffs.
Wonder if some of the gassy, overweight tenants could be evicted for the same reason they are trying to evict this individual….
And “Alex” honey…your post shows how ignorant you are….should we go into your IQ, vanity, and what your excuse is for being a human being??
These people should be ashamed of themselves. With all of the real problems in the world nobody should be wasting a single second on something so trivial. Get a life people!!! Put your priorities in proper order. Good Lord!!!

The worst social disease you can get from dogs is fleas.
Dogs don’t make a practice of killing members of their own species.
Dogs think you are a culinary genius.
You can force a dog to take a bath.
Dogs don’t correct your stories.
Middle-aged dogs don’t feel the need to abandon you for a younger owner.
Dogs don’t mind if you do all the driving.
Dogs don’t step on the imaginary brake.

Dogs aren’t threatened if you earn more than they do.

Dogs are nice to your relatives.
Well, Alex it is very obvious to me & I am sure everyone else too, that you know nothing about the breed. Your ignorance is shining through for all to see.
I am stunned to hear about this shameful excuse of a news woman who works for CNN.
There is no excusefor her Chelsea co-operate board to complain about the Mastiff being in her words stinky, shedding and drooling dog.
The Mastiff being one of mans best friend loving and a working breed who comes from the ancient BC loyal guardian. I am going to write to CNN news dept. and complain about her true colors.
I am a CNN news cast watcher and I am not going to be one any more.

How can someone that claims to be so educated and whose job it is to bring us the news unbiased at that be so darn ignorant. I used to be a faithful CNN viewer but no longer. I refuse to watch so long as this crude less than human being is employed there.

I will agree with you on all of these points except one:
“Gorgeous dogs don’t know they’re gorgeous.”
If you have ever been around a Pomeranian, you would know what I mean!!! My mom had a Pom many years ago when I was younger, and I swear, that dog KNEW he was gorgeous and never let anyone forget it…:) As for the rest of the points, having 4 big boys of my own, I full heartily agree. Thank God I gave up CNN due their Obama lovefest months ago. Never could stand O’Brien anyway.
Ok so we have established that
1) Alex hates mastiffs.
2) the one in this story has gas
3) It’s a dog it doesn’t care if it has gas.
Now for some legit info
Mastiffs actually do well in apartments they require little exercise and are more comfortable inside with their family.

It sounds like the co-op board does not want Miss O’Brien to sell and move so they are accomodating her celebrity which really sucks big time. Real New Yorkers deserve a break too. What happened to the celebrities who lived in NY because they got treated like regular people and could go about their business?
I think Miss O’B should be on her merry way and the coop should say good riddance. Who knows what she’ll decide she doesn’t like next and then boom you’re out too.

There is nothing that compares to the love of my 175 lb’ers. Mastiffs are gentler than most tea cups….So they slobber, you clean it. So they have gas…don’t you? So they shed…don’t you shed your hair…tell me there’s none of your hair in the shower or sink at this minute.
I’m suprised CNN and Soledad are fighting this fight….really….
Can’t we all get along???
