Obama Ready to Negotiate With Terrorists Hamas

The incoming Obama administration is prepared to abandon George Bush’s doctrine of isolating Hamas by establishing a channel to the Islamist organisation, sources close to the transition team say.
The move to open contacts with Hamas, which could be initiated through the US intelligence services, would represent a definitive break with the Bush presidency’s ostracising of the group. The state department has designated Hamas a terrorist organisation, and in 2006 Congress passed a law banning US financial aid to the group.
The Guardian has spoken to three people with knowledge of the discussions in the Obama camp.
True leadership folks! This is the change we have been waiting for? This guy is actually going to legitimize barbarians! Wave goodbye to the Reagan policy on not negotiating with terrorists!
Hot Air gives us a quote from Obama in April, 2008:
“We must not negotiate with a terrorist group intent on Israel’s destruction. We should only sit down with Hamas if they renounce terrorism, recognize Israel’s right to exist and abide by past agreements.”
“Hamas is not a state. Hamas is a terrorist organization,” he said.
Funny, I don’t remember Hamas doing any of those things. Good to know Obama’s word is as good as Hamas’s.
Hamas boobytraps civilian homes, boobytrap dolls, fire missiles from schools, use mosques as arsenals, and fire machine guns into a party of Gazan revelers playing music and Obambi is going to talk to these blood hungry neanderthals? I really hope the Guardian is wrong in what they are reporting. If not, we’re in for a longer four years than I first thought.

Hey, if this is true, now we know why Obama won’t talk about the current Gaza situation.
Here’s hopin’ that if Obama does go ahead with this clearly bone-headed maneuver, the people of Israel tell him to go screw himself.
I know that this sounds dumb, but how does one even go about talking to Hamas? Who do you talk to? How do you even know that you’re talking to the real Hamas? Or, to be more clear, what makes you think that the leader of Hamas,Khaled Mashaal is going to be able to get all of his people to cooperate and stop with the rocket attacks?
Carter meet with him back in April, what did that do? What exactly does Obama plan to say to them?

Yeah, but they don’t do that. What makes anyone think that they will?
In my opinion there are only two ways to deal with any hostile situation. 1 is to go all gun hoe and rush in to obliterate the threat and 2 is to negotiate and hopefully eliminate the threat in a more cost effective and peaceful way.
I for one am for a peaceful solution and therefore would pick option #2. After all, haven’t we learned by now that violence begets violence?!
The people of the Middle East have been fighting amongst them selves for 100’s of years and all they have achieved are new reasons and/or excuses (depending on your point of view) to kill one another. I think it’s time someone stepped in and helped to ease the tensions in that region without killing anyone or invading and rebuilding entire countries.
Israel has been free to do what ever they wanted to, with the United States blessing.
The United States and Israel listens to no one, not even the United Nation. This has always been the problem.

There should be people threating to cut off the money supply to news organizations, cutting off support to any organization thats against this killing of innocent people.Their should be millions of letters sent to the white house to stop the support of money and supplies to any of these countries. Israel or Gaza. And the UN should be in control of the Area, so that each would be able to survive in peace.
Has this policy worked? Clearly no. What’s the big deal? Try something else. If it fails, go back to bombimg them.

It’s sad that we live in a society that is not Christ centered. There are people who are bored with peace and encite war! The approach that President Elect Obama is proposing may in fact save countless more lives…..seeing innocent beautiful babies being carried in the arms of their grieving parents [dead] on the front pages of our newspapers is heartbreaking! We have yet to endure the same attrocities and have our beautiful babies subjected to the same demise if we don’t adopt peace!!!

Secondly, “Opening a channel” is NOT negotiating with Terrorist. For Godsakes. Letting them have a say is not negotiating. Just more reasons why America shouldn’t be taking sides in this conflict.
You know what I would like to see? My tax dollars not being sent to EITHER side over there. That would stop the fighting real quick. But from the looks of it, that isn’t going to be changing anytime soon.

It’s hard to empathize with a group, or even peoples for that matter, that uses such levels of violences and civic structures and civilians for cover. But maybe we shouldn’t overlook the fact that Hamas is actually a democratically elected group. Certainly, the violent tactics need to stop, but wouldn’t ostracizing them as all-out terrorists undermine our very own mission to promote democracy in the world?

Rachel, this time, as it happened so many times in the past, Israel will not wipe out Hamas. World leaders will rescue the Arab terrorists, as they did many times before. However, this episode of fighting may help Israel. On February 10, there will be elections held in Israel. Indecisiveness of the current weak leaders of Israel in general, and in the ongoing right now fighting in particular, may force people of Israel to elect REAL leaders that Israel needs. The real leaders must annul the Oslo agreement, end the criminal policy of giving land to Arabs in a futile attempt to appease them, and fight wars against Arabs in a serious way. As for Obama as President, I don’t think that he will be able to cause much more harm than his predecessors (Carter, Clinton, etc.) did. As for the Jewish people in the USA, it is critically important to abandon their traditional idiotic policy of clinging to the Democrats. American Christian Right is the only REAL ally of Israel – people like John Hagee and Pat Robertson. The idiots in AIPAC and ADL have to figure that out.
