Looking back at 2008 two things seem have dominated many editions of The WHT – the weather and the environment.
We had a warm spell in January that caused a lot of flooding, followed by many days of near record snowfall in February. Then, in April summer arrived for a few days with temperatures hitting the mid 20s (C). The pattern happened again in November when first we basked in sunshine and summer-like weather, which was then followed by too much snow for anyone who owns a driveway.
Then it was nearly all gone by the end of the year. Global warming isn’t really about warming temperatures (although that is the general conception). It’s more about extremes and, if you need more proof than the weather patterns of the past couple of years, your name must be George W. Bush.
Got that? Global warming isn’t about warming.
And you gotta love that it is OK when climahysterics link in weather, but, if us skeptics and deniers do, we are told we do not understand climate (for a reality check, weather creates climate, so, yes, it should be included.) And the definitions are being changed.

Despite the year’s economic meltdown (which itself wasn’t banished but don’t rule it out for next year), the most entries came from the environmental category – for “green” or “going green.”
“If I see one more corporation declare itself ‘green,’ I’m going to start burning tires in my backyard,” wrote Ed Hardiman of Bristow, Va., in his submission. Nominators also had their fill of “carbon footprint” – the amount of greenhouse gases an individual’s lifestyle produces.
And, of course, “going green” nowadays means being AGW friendly, not protecting rainforests or Yogi Bean and hey, hey, Boo Boo!

Natural disasters killed over 220,000 people in 2008, making it one of the most devastating years on record and underlining the need for a global climate deal … an earthquake shook China’s Sichuan province, leaving 70,000 dead, 18,000 missing and almost five million homeless, according to official figures…
Um, what? Natural disasters like the China earthquake? Does that mean the 1556 earthquake in Shensi, China, which killed an estimated 830,000 was caused by SUVs? How does that jibe with global warming, er, climate change, since that was during the Little Ice Age? There were also several on the top deaths list that occured during the LIA. What’s next, will they blame volcano’s on global warming? Oh, wait, they already did.
Oh, and a story I ran across while looking for the info above shows that it may be a volcano, not AGW, that is melting some of the ice in Antarctica.

There is only one complete and exact computer of global climate and that is the planet itself. Results from the planet computer are archived in the Vostok and EPICA ice cores. Global average temperature anomalies and atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have been extracted from these ice cores and are widely available. Repeatedly during the last and previous glacial periods, a temperature increasing trend changed to a decreasing trend with the atmospheric carbon dioxide level higher during the temperature down-trend than it had been when the temperature trend was increasing. Alarmists are unaware of that part of science that proves, using the archived data, that added atmospheric carbon dioxide can not cause significant global warming. Any action that is taken to reduce human produced carbon dioxide to reduce global warming is a mistake and puts freedom and prosperity at risk.
AGW: A tautology that is a catalyst for an unprecedented, unlimited and permanent political power grab. Regardless of what the weather does they’ll claim their plans worked, so that is proof that they need to maintain control, or the plans didn’t work, so they need more control.
Notice how slowly the environitwits are changing over to the phrase “climate change”. They are phasing out “global warming” because there is no warming. In the 70’s and 80’s it was “the pollution Ice Age”. Then it was the Ozone hole that would get so large that we would all fry like in a million kiloton nuke blast. Then Global Warming was the catchphrase. Now that it’s getting colder, they have to use “Climate Change” so that any weather anywhere anytime can be blamed on cars and air conditioning.
Whatever “global warming” there WAS, it was not MAN-MADE.
Other planets in the solar system reflected this “Climate Change”, too. It was due to a cycle in sun heat output, which has apparently peaked. The crazy weather we are experiencing could well be due to Gov’t induced anomolies via HAARP. Google that one. Its an artificial weather system set up, based in Alaska. The Global Elite want to scare us into submission & tax us til we drop… & submit to their tyranny. Let’s stop the New World Order in 2009! End The Fed!!! Go to endthefed.us

Congressman Ron Paul will present a Bill to Congress in Jan to abolish the Federal Reserve. There is a petition at the aforementioned site to help w/ that.
